Explore Camargue, France, on a guided safari adventure tour aboard a 4x4 with an open roof view. Visit authentic landscapes including the rice fields and ponds of a local marsh. See Camargue horses and bulls and marvel at the flight of flamingos. Plus, taste local foods and wines. Get picked up from your accommodation before starting your adventure. Board the 4x4 and stop at a breeding ranch to experience Camargue's animals. See the Camargue horses and bulls. Then, explore the middle of the marsh of the old Vistres. Travel through the rice fields and along the ponds and canals. Get a chance to see flamingos and other wildlife. Then, transport to another time while stopping at the heart of the medieval city of Aigues-Mortes. Go to a viewpoint at Mont Saint Baudille and travel to two belvederes to admire the Cirque de Navacelles land formation on this day trip from Montpellier. Explore the charming village of Navacelles and see its waterfall. Hike to an old mill that is built over a waterfall at moulin Foux de la Vis. Meet your guide in Montpellier and relax on the trip to the top of Mount Saint Baudille, appreciate the amphitheater-like valley formed by erosion at the Cirque de Navacelles and sweeping views of the Mediterranean sea. Head to the belvedere of the Baume Auriol to see this land formation from another angle. Continue to the old stone village of Navacelles. Walk through this rustic locale which is built around a natural waterfall. Take some time to relax or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy. Hike through the woods along the emerald green Vis river to the mill over the Foux de Vis waterfall. Head to the belvedere of Blandas where you can take in panoramic views of the Cirque de Navacelles and the river Vis. Return to Montpellier.

Accompagné d’un guide naturaliste, vous pénétrez dans le cœur de la réserve naturelle. Sur plus de 1 200 hectares, le site est composé d'une mosaïque de milieux naturels caractéristiques de la Camargue, qui abritent 3 500 espèces animales et végétales, avec 5 élevages de taureaux et chevaux, et plus de 300 espèces d'oiseaux que vous pourrez observer au fil des saisons : canards, rapaces, limicoles, flamants roses, hérons... le site accueille les 9 espèces de hérons d’Europe, dont le fameux Butor Etoilé. Le point de rendez-vous de la visite est fixé devant l’accueil des Marais du Vigueirat. Le guide vous emmène en minibus électrique jusque dans le cœur de la réserve naturelle situé 5 km plus au sud. Vous vous rendrez ensuite à pied dans plusieurs observatoires à la découverte des oiseaux présents dans le marais. Le guide vous fera découvrir les différentes espèces à l’aide d’une longue-vue et vous donnera de nombreuses explications sur la faune et les milieux naturels. D’une durée de 2h30, les visites naturalistes ont lieu toute l’année matin et après midi, avec des horaires qui s’adaptent au rythme des saisons. Ces sorties ne sont pas réservées seulement aux ornithologues mais s’adaptent à toute la famille. Le circuit n’est pas accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

Depart from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and head out on a safari around the scenic Camargue region of southern France. With a designated driver and guide, you will discover the blossoming flora and fauna unique to the region.  See the famous white Camargue horses roaming freely in the fields from the heights of a convertible 4x4 motor. Snap shots of flamingos and different bird species flying around the edge of the ponds and bodies of water found in this serene area whilst listening to the story of the Camargue.  Following the safari, stop on the shore of the Rhône river to enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by a caterer with regional products. In the afternoon, you can sail at your own pace on a canoe, taking time to discover the natural beauty of the delta. At the end of the tour, the driver will bring you back to the starting point.

7. Montpellier: Half-Day Hiking Tour of Pic Saint Loup & Picnic

Starting from Place de l'Europe in Montpellier at 9 am. The guide will be next to the grey van. You have to come 15 min before to make sure i have time to give you all your equipment ! Discover the Pic Saint Loup through a 2-hour hike (there and back) where you will be able to admire the most beautiful view of the Herault region from the summit of the Pic (658m). Then, excite your tastebuds and enjoy a local picnic with charcuterie, terrines, cheese and seasonal fruits. Return to Place de l'Europe in Montpellier at 2pm.
