Full description
On this 7-hour excursion, you’ll explore the natural sites of southern Lanzarote. The last volcanic eruptions in the area occurred in the 18th century, creating a unique landscape. The centerpiece of the tour is the stunning Timanfaya National Park, which has been the shooting location for several films. The park’s terrain was used to represent the landscapes of other planets, such as Mars. See geothermal demonstrations on the Islet of Hilario, where the latent heat from past eruptions is still potent. Continue on a drive along the famous Volcanoes Route. Surrounding the park you’ll find natural wonders such as the Sea of Lava near the white village of Yaiza. See Los Hervideros, El Golfo and the Green Lake as well. At El Camacho, you can take an optional camel ride. In La Geria you'll visit a winery. This area is known for its Malvasia grape vineyards and the unique methods the local have devised to cultivate the difficult land.

The driver in our tour is a character, good sense of humour, very accommodating, sincere and kind. The excursions is awesome, an experience of a lifetime that is worth it and mind blowing that will make you think and understand the essence of life. The geological location is splendid and the tour shows are extraordinary! Enjoyable and a great day-out. The excursion had many visits to the different activities and locations- trip to town of Yaiza with spectacular look to where the lava flows stopped and panoramic view to town spared, camel-back driving Parue National, then visit to green lagoon in El Golfo was mesmerising, such beauty and the main event in Timanfaya with different shows gezer, buffet lunch in Tinajo and quick visit to Church of St Dolores and wine tasting ing Barretto in La Getia with panoramic view to the vineyard and souvenir scourging. Great company and most importantly the drive was insane heart stopping specifically in bends and view of small and big craters! Wow!

After a departure delayed by 20 minutes (the bus actually picks up customers in different places), we first head to the town of Yaiza (pretty little town), or depending on the desired language a bus change is made. First step, camel ride (15-20 minutes, for 12 euros extra). With visit to a small museum informing about the place of the dromedary in the history of this island. Then begins the journey to one of the local bodega where you can taste wine. During our visit, choice between a dry white and a soft white. The quantities served are however very small. After direction Timanfaya, where the driver shows great dexterity in his driving. The park is beautiful and there was a 15 minute stop at the highest point where there is a restaurant and souvenir shop. The visit is punctuated by comments from the guide, unfortunately ours did not really want to be there it seems!

The excursion is worth it to get to know this southern part of the island, although we did not go to the hervideros or the salt flats, included in the program. The excursion was operated by a different agency than the one we were informed about in the reservation. This can be confusing. The guide (Tony) attentive to everything and everyone and good explanations Felix, the driver, excellent handling of the bus especially by Timanfaya. Highly recommended excursion
