Leipzig: 3-Hour Bike Tour

1. Leipzig: 3-Hour Bike Tour

Take a 3-hour bike tour round the lively city of Leipzig. See where Leipzig's old fairs used to take place, and check out the Old Town Hall that dates back to the Renaissance period. Zip past the zoo in Rosenthal Park; home to giraffes, zebras, and gazelles. In the gorgeous Forest Street Quarter (Waldstraßenviertel) of Leipzig, check out the graceful Jugendstil motifs of leaves, flowers, and women that adorn Leipzig's stately buildings. The impressive industrial architecture of the Buntgarnwerke awaits the visitor at Plagwitz. Though Plagwitz was once where most of Leipzig's yarn was spun and dyed, now it's a buzzing part of this hip university city. If you want to see all this and more, a guided 3-hour bike tour of Leipzig is ideal.

Then, continue through the Elster Auwald and Clara Zetkin Park, over the famous Sachsenbrücke bridge towards Leipzig city center. These were used in the Espenhain open-cast mine, which gave rise to Lakes Störmthal and Markkleeberg. From there, continue via the new Harth to Lake Cospuden. This lake was also created from former lignite mining and is characterized today by its unique landscape.

The tour was quite relaxed and you got a good impression of Leipzig. If Get your Guide asked if they needed bicycles when booking, it would have been perfect. Since that was not the case, these had to be obtained in a laborious and ad hoc manner. We then made contact with the group later. The tour guide was very understanding and tried and was very relaxed.

Great experience! Marcel was a perfect guide, mastered the history and the actual situation very well and was very helpful to re-explain and clarify our questions in english. The trip gave us great insights. It was very pleasant, easy to do, right stops in a safe wat with great explanation.

An interesting bike tour with a great guide who showed us around Leipzig and the surrounding area with his knowledge of culture and history. We can only recommend the tour! Many thanks again to Florian
