In addition to the famous Nikolai Church, the beautiful Specks Hof Passage, the small Snack Market and the market with Old Rathaus, you can expect landmarks of the city like the Mädler Passage with the Auerachs Cellar, Barthels Hof and the Thomas Church.
After about an hour it continues in an air-conditioned tour bus to the highlights of Leipzig located outside of the city ring. In the exlusive Gohlis quarter two cultural sites draw the attention of visitors: an architectural jewel is the Gohlis castle, which was constructed as the bourgeois summer residence in the middle of the 18th Century.
Very close by is the Schiller House, a modest farm house in which Friedrich Schiller lived in 1785 for several months and worked on "Ode to Joy". through the exclusive Waldstraßen Quarter and past the Red Bull Arena we arrive in the constantly-changing Plagwitz city section, with canals, galleries and lofts.
Cosy in green and with impressive villas the music district begins. The Federal Administrative Court is operating since 2002 in the impressive building of the former Reich Court. The way leads through the lively southern suburb past the popular Panometer to one of the well-known sites in Leipzig, the Battle of Nations Monument.
The return trip to the city via the Old Market, the German Square and past the Bavarian Train Station leads to the Augustusplatz, where our tour ends. Three significant cultural institutions which decisively determine the image of the city are located here: the New Concert Hall, the University and the Opera.
