Omodos developed around the ancient monastery of the Holy Cross (connected to St. Helen’s Pa...

Touring picturesque villages with a local was a treat. We topped off the day with a wine tasting in a posh winery with stunning hilltop views where I grabbed several bottles for souvenirs.

Cyprus is separated into two countries. Most people only see the south/Greek side. But the northern/Turkish side is fascinating too! The Kyrenia castle is HUGE and has an interesting history (e.g. Richard the Lionhearted). Also there is the Girne shipwreck from c300BC. Our driver was knowledgeable, and also fun.

Booked this trip only one day before the experience. Excellent text communication immediately from the firm, with additional vouchers for the Apple wallet. There was a picnic lunch offered as an extra, which turned out to be very good. The small bus arrived five minutes early. The transport was a seven seater, including driver and front passenger. Very comfortable seats. We carried out a further two pick ups locally, so a total of five in our group. We travelled for 30mins from Limissol to the first of three wineries. Each tasting was good with a full explanation given of each wine. We tasted seven wines each stop, small quantities that could be consumed or disposed of. Our guide was excellent, funny, approachable, but still very professional. I would highly recommend this trip, an excellent day out, that I considered very good value.
