Omodos Village and Kelephos Medieval Bridge Tour

2. Omodos Village and Kelephos Medieval Bridge Tour

Start your tour by heading to the Krassohoria wine villages. First, you will go to the expansive Paphos Forest and visit Kelephos' medieval Venetian bridge, which according to tradition is built on a camel trail. The trail was apparently used by camel caravans to transport mined material from the mines on the north side of the Troodos mountains to Paphos port. The local stream has water throughout the year. The setting is beautiful, with higher water flow during the rainy season and with more greenery in summer when the alders have their leaves and the bracken are full of life. You'll then move to Omodos village, one of the largest villages of Krasochoria. For years it has been well-known for its vineyards and wine and is still today known for its prime produce. Omodos developed around the ancient monastery of the Holy Cross (connected to St. Helen’s Passage to Cyprus) and is a popular destination for visitors. If you prefer, you can visit a less touristy village, for example Arsos or Vasa.

Overall a great tour! Our guide was very nice, there was a lot of information about the area and history of Ayia Napa and everything was very relaxed. It was great fun to drive the jeep over sandy slopes and stony terrain and at the end a great panoramic view just before sunset! The tour is worthwhile to experience the southeast of the island!

What a great way to spend a day in Cyprus! I saw fantastic scenery visiting a waterfall and a medieval bridge and I got some really amazing photos. Touring picturesque villages with a local was a treat. We topped off the day with a wine tasting in a posh winery with stunning hilltop views where I grabbed several bottles for souvenirs.

The tour was spectacular as we are travelers that wanted rest and relaxation. Most of all we have enjoyed the wine and the beautiful hospitality from the Cypriots as well as our tour guide.

Zoe my guide was very informative while being friendly. I got to see lots of Limassol I would have missed by myself. Overall a very worthwhile experience

Some great scenery and history at St Hilarion and Old Nicosia - very enjoyable day and Gemma the guide was very knowledgeable
