2. Lucerne: Half-Day City Tour and Lake Cruise

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and together you’ll make your way into central Lucerne. Enjoy fantastic panoramic views of the city center across the Reuss river, and admire the surrounding mountains. Continue towards the wooden Chapel Bridge, a 200-meter long pedestrian crossing, and learn the history of this beautifully painted bridge.   Discover the car-free inner city circle and the old town, filled with 16th-century buildings. Walk across the Spreuer Bridge and take a coffee break along the Reuss river. After the break, continue along the city wall, built for defensive reasons in the 14th century. End your city tour by the Lion Monument, a rock relief commemorating the massacres of Swiss Guards during the French Revolution.   Your tour guide will then lead you to the boat station, where you’ll board a panoramic yacht and sail out on to Lake Lucerne. Listen to the audio headset commentary during the cruise, or ask your guide about the mountains, houses, and other sights along the shore. After the 1-hour boat tour, you’ll return to Lucerne, where your guide will drop you off back at your hotel.

3. From Basel: Private Lucerne City Tour with Boat Trip

Start your tour by meeting your guide at your accommodation. Here, enjoy a pleasant meet and greet with your guide before making your way to the train station in Basel. Hop aboard an intercity train and within 1-hour you will step foot in the amazing city of Lucerne.  Once you step off the platform, you'll first visit the famous Concert Hall, designed by Jean Nouvel, a magnificent building whose architecture is worthy of marveling at. On the walk with your tour guide, you will head toward the wooden "Chapel Bridge", a 200-meter long pedestrian crossing bridge. Your informative guide will tell you fascinating facts about the history of the bridge and its paintings. Continue on your tour with a stroll through the car-free inner city circle of the Old Town. Your tour guide will give you information about the houses and their origins from the 16th-century. Whilst here you'll also get to take a walk over the "Spreuer Bridge" and enjoy a coffee break along the "Reuss" river.  After your break, you will continue along the city wall, formerly used for defense purposes many centuries ago. In the company of a local guide, explore the Old Town. See sights such as the wooden Chapel Bridge, the Lion Monument, and Lucerne's most important churches. 5. Lucerne: City Biking and Walking Tour

You will meet with your local guide at either 9:30AM or 2:00PM, right at the reception of your Lucerne Hotel. From here you will take a short walk to the next bike rental station, from where you will take your bike before being shortly briefed on the most important traffic rules. After some time spent practicing, you will then follow your guide and ride your bike to the historical center. The first stop is at the Chapel Bridge and Water Tower, where you will receive some brief information on the most photographed attraction in Switzerland. A little further downstream, you will visit the Jesuit Church, which is the first baroque church in Switzerland and dates back to 1677. You will then visit the Ritter Palace, a Florentine Palazzo which you will visit from the inside to marvel at the "Danse Macabre" paintings (except on Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and special events). Next, you will ride your bike further, crossing the Reuss Bridge to the Mill Square. You see the wooden Mill Bridge and the Historical Museum, a former arsenal of Old Lucerne. Here you will receive further information about the historical attractions in Old Lucerne. You will then ride your bike further to Löwengraben street, where you will lock your bike before continuing by foot. You can marvel at the murals on the old houses of Stag Square, and see the old guest house signs. Your guide will then take you to see the Musegg Wall, the city fortification wall which dates back to the 15th century. You will climb the steep steps of the Schirmer Tower, and walk along the military gear to visit the Clock Tower, complete with its lead bell. You will then continue walking down from Musegg Hill to Löwengraben, where you will unlock your parked bike before continuing to bike through Hertensteinstrasse to the Lion Monument. After a short bike ride on the main street, you will arrive to Schwanenplatz, where you will be able to explore St. Peter's Chapel, the Chapel Bridge and the Zur Gilgen House. Finally, you will drive your bike back to the rental station before being accompanied by your guide back to your hotel.
