Full description
Explore the coast of Portugal’s picturesque Sesimbra on a unique coasteering activity, and experience the latest adventure sport craze to hit Portugal and Arrábida. Coasteering is a mix of rock climbing, rappelling, swimming and walking, and Sesimbra is one of the best spots for the sport. Thanks to its combination of a natural protected area with the blue green translucent waters of the sea, coasteering in Sesimbra is a special adventure guaranteed to be a thrill whatever time of year. Meet your guide at the Porto de Abrigo to collect your coasteering equipment. As you’d expect, this activity requires several security measures, and you will be assisted and monitored by experienced professionals all the time. You’ll be provided with a helmet, buoyancy aid wet suit, and trainers. Some routes require rappelling and the use of a harness. Ropes and rescue kits are available in case of an emergency, but typically the activity is a cool and calm experience. Marvel at the breathtaking landscapes as you swim, walk, climb, and jump. Clamber over magnificent rocky escarpments that plunge over bays and coves.

It was very good, you have to be solid to climb the cliffs, and not afraid to jump in, the water at 3-10 meters high, but the guide, (For me diego) is very good, calm and prevenant. The views are amazing (advice : buy a cheap pair of shoes before or locate their shoes because their will be dirty)

I was so anxious about this activity in the run-up to it as I was very scared about the jumps. However, it was actually very fun and my partner in particular loved it. The highest jump is 8 metres and with support and encouragement from others in the group I think anyone can do it, especially if I can! The two guides were brilliant, very supportive and spoke excellent English. The hardest part actually turned out to be the climbing for me, particularly straight after the swimming, but they will help you if you're struggling. We paid extra for the transfer from and back to Lisbon which made travel very easy and not something we had to worry about. I recommend bringing a GoPro type camera to wear on the body as we got some good footage and it is the only way you can take photos/videos and WEAR GRIPPY TRAINERS - cannot stress this enough as we did think we were going to slip a couple of times! You do need to be reasonably fit to do this as I found it hard on my body at times.

This was easily the best part of the Portugal trip for me! its equal parts scary and fun all the while you are surrounded by some jaw dropping vistas. The guides Francisco, Ines and Chantell were helpful, reassuring and awesome to hangout with. Absolutely recommended!
