Explore the history of Portugal on a tour of Évora and the Megaliths of the Cromeleque dos Almendres. Following pickup from your hotel in Lisbon, make your way to Évora, the historic capital of the Alentejo.

Start the day with a tour of the Almendres Cromlech. Older than Stonehenge, this megalithic complex reveals some of the secrets of ancient civilizations and their knowledge of astronomy. Admire the circle of stones, mysteriously aligned with the sun and stars.

Next, explore the UNESCO-classified city center of Évora. See remnants from Roman through Renaissance times. Visit the Temple of Diana and learn how cork is extracted from Cork Oak Trees. Visit the medieval Évora Cathedral and climb to the roof to admire the golden plains surrounding the city. Continue to the Renaissance Church of St. Francis to see the Chapel of Bones, covered in human skulls and bones, before returning to Lisbon.

First of all, the Guide, he wanted to be called John, amazing. Not only did he ask for our wishes, he delivered. Can only recommend "Around Lisbon" for Day-Trips. Evora is beautiful and our Guide Had a Lot to Tell, it was very informative. We also Had enough time for having a good Lunch there too. The Guides recommendation for Lunch was amazing. The megaliths were alright, Just dont expect too much. You Spend only a short time there. The Cork factory was a very informative Stop as well. All in all, the best Day-Trip I Had during my stay in Lisbon, I fully recommend both the Trip and the company

Fabulous, interesting, informative tour with Joao, our guide/driver. Doing a small group tour allows one the have a more personal experience learning about history, countryside, towns ..... Joao was engaging, very knowledgeable and fun. The tour was well paced with sufficient time in all our stops. What a great experience seeing all the places that this tour offered along with crossing the 2 different bridges of Lisbon.
