Full description
This private tour starts at your accommodation, from where you will set out to discover the city of Lisbon. Hear how Lisbon recovered after it was practically devastated by the earthquake of 1755 and visit Belem, the Lisbon district that personifies the epic of the Portuguese Discoveries with its several monuments that are classified as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. Taste the famous “pasteis de Belem”, in a traditional location where the secret recipe is passed from generation to generation. You will also explore Alfama, the city's oldest district. In the center of Sintra, you will see the imposing Palacio da Vila, or National Palace, with its two striking chimneys. The Palace used to be the chosen holiday resort of several kings throughout Portuguese history and, inside, each room is decorated differently and has a different history. The interior of the Palace is a true tile museum. Discover the charm of the narrow alleys of the town and the many regional products stores. The choice of what palace ( or palaces ) to visit it is yours, the guide will suggest that it is best for you to visit between; “Quinta da Regaleira”a palace from the 19th-century, Moorish Castle a testimony of the Islamic presence in the region, or why not the Palaçio da Pena to get  the taste of nineteenth-century romanticism. Head to Roca Cape or Cabo da Roca, the most western geographical location in Portugal and Continental Europe. Filled with mysticism and surrounded by the Atlantic except for onone side, this geological formation is also known as “The Snout of the Rock”. You will have some free time in Cascais, an ancient fisherman's village turned into a beautiful and cosmopolitan beach resort. Right next to it is Estoril, famous for its casino and where Casino Royale was written. Then go to Belem the district in Lisbon that personifies the greatness of the Portuguese discoveries with several monuments classified as Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO such as the Jerónimos Monastery and Torre de Belém.

The guide, himself, was great. The booking manager lied about contacting me to tell me the locations were closed on New Years Day. I made them reschedule for the 3rd of January. The other option was to give me my money back. Nothing is included in the tour including ticketing. It’s also a “Where would you like to go?”, sort of thing.
