The actual sights at the village and castle are great to see as Downton fans. Unfortunately our guide injected too much of his personality and negative comments in an attempt at humor which fell flat for my group as well as at least 1 other group on our tour. He offered to use the microphone on the bus if needed but when asked nicely to do so he continued to not use it. He offered up his atheism as a factoid whilst touring the church and repeatedly mentioned drinking his wine while the group was visiting Highclere. He came off as not a Downton enthusiast and took many opportunities to naysay the series and movie - again at an attempt at humor which just fell flat. Probably the worst tour guide I’ve encountered.

This is the must do for any Downton Abbey fan!! The only negative comment I have is that we spent little time in Bampton Village, after the walking tour we only had 15 mins of free time, a little more time would have been ideal! But otherwise an awesome day trip from London!

The tour was well organised from start to finish.. The guide (Catherine) was very friendly and the driver (Mark) was very pleasant and we felt in very safe hands. The tour itself was very enjoyable, Bampton Village was beautiful and Highclere Castle was stunning and the facilities there, toilet facilities, catering d and souvenirs were all very good. We were lucky with the weather as were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens also. Would definitely recommend and if only we didnt live so far away we would do it all again!
