Full description
Join this fantastic full day excursion from London which combines a trip to the magical Warner Bros Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter with a trip to the historic city of Oxford. This full day excursion begins by journeying out of London, where just under 2 hours away you'll reach the historic city of Oxford, home to England's oldest university. Enjoy a guided walking tour that takes you past famous college buildings, cloisters and quadrangles and cobblestone squares, standing in the the shadows of the famous 'dreaming spires'. At this heart of hallowed academia you’ll see the Bodlean Library, Radcliffe Camera, the Sheldonian Theatre, and selected colleges. There are 38 independent, autonomous colleges at the University, and you will pass by many of them on your tour. After your guided tour, there will be some free time for you to explore all that Oxford has to offer at your own pace.  After a fantastic guided tour and free time in Oxford, it's approximately an hour’s drive to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, where you’ll begin your magical experience at The Making of Harry Potter. Discover behind the scenes secrets, see some of the most recognisable set features from the Harry Potter films: the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, the Gryffindor common room, the Ministry of Magic, 4 Privet Drive, the Weasley kitchen, Hogwarts Express, and Diagon Alley! Board the original Hogwarts Express train and see a recreation of Platform 9-3/4. Explore the interior train carriage set that was featured during filming and take a selfie with a luggage trolley as it disappears through the station's brick wall! See props, learn of film making techniques and take in the magic that was captured in the working studios where all the Harry Potter films were made. After a truly magical day, its time to board your coach and head back to London, dropping off at your original pick up point.

The start was a bit difficult, because the coach didn't turn up in time, but still the day was great. The guide was really helpful and when he found out that we liked Tolkien, he included some interesting things for us. It is a pity that the time in Oxford was a bit shorter, but it only means maybe we should return :)

Got to Oxford first. The time spent in Oxford felt short, but then again I guess there’s never enough time to see everything. Our tour guide was exceptional. He gave us about an hour of guided tour and then we were free to roam for about 2 or 3 hours. Since this is a Harry Potter tour, I recommend paying the ticket price for Christ Church, while a bit on the expensive side, you will see the stairs leading into Hogwarts and the great hall. I also recommend paying the £2 to see The Divinity School. And for a magnificent view of Oxford I would recommend paying to see the top view of Oxford at the university Church of St. Mary. The WB studio is of course the main attraction in this tour and definitely worth the cost. It is something you have to see in person.

The whole process, from booking to going on the tour was very straightforward and convenient. The meeting point was easy to find, the guides were very friendly, the bus ride out was good. All in all, it help made the experience of visiting Harry Potter Studio that much more easier. Highly recommended. And the visit to Oxford was also an interesting addition. Thank you for making it a memorable visit for our family.
