Tenerife: Complete Island Tour + Masca

2. Tenerife: Complete Island Tour + Masca

Once the pick-up is finished, you will leave the hotel zone behind, heading to the town called Villa de Candelaria. There you can visit its basilica, inside which is the Virgin of Candelaria (Black Madonna), who is the patron saint of the Canary Islands. You will also be surprised by the imposing bronze statues that commemorate the ancient menceyes (Guanche kings) of Tenerife, and constitute a national monument. We will continue the route to La Laguna, the first city founded in Tenerife after its conquest. This historic jewel was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Here we will walk its picturesque streets that overflow with history and culture. The tour continues to the town of Villa de La Orotava in the north of the island, where you will take a walking tour of the historic artistic old town. Its streets, full of history and beauty, will take you to La Casa de Los Balcones, one of the most characteristic buildings of La Orotava, which houses an embroidery and costumes centre of the Canary Islands. We will continue with the visit to Garachico, a seaside town that was partially destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and later rebuilt. It has a rich architectural heritage from the 16th and 17th centuries, very well preserved, which is why its historic centre was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1994. It also was included in 2021 in the list of the MOST BEAUTIFUL TOWNS IN SPAIN. You will have free time to have your lunch. Why not enjoy some Canarian cuisine by trying one of the menus that we recommend in the restaurants of the Ycoden Daute Isora area. On the way back to the south, we will pass through Teno Rural Park to visit the picturesque Hamlet of Masca. It offers one of the most beautiful landscapes in Tenerife where nature meets some of the best examples of traditional architecture in the Canary Islands. There is a change in the order of the itinerary for the Island Tour & Masca that departs from Puerto de La Cruz, which is: La Orotava, La Laguna, Candelaria, El Médano, Masca and Garachico.

What people are saying about Los Gigantes

It was a lovely day and having our guide Angel and driver too.We were collected from our hotel at Costa Adeje. The trip was full of information from Angel and his vast knowledges of being a canarios and other travel information. We covered all these places below as we don’t think we can visit them in just one day, for us it’s the best to know these places if ever we have to check it out again and that helps us to give an idea. We can’t comment to the German guide and we are only 4 people in this tour but he is our guide or to accompany us for a photo or short walk. We had lunch at Candelaria which is near the church and chose the restaurant near the coast and it was lovely and great price too. Angel never have any deals with those restaurants like other travel agents that they will push you to eat to that place. Places we’ve visited Santiago del Teide Garachico Icod de los vinos La Orotava San Cristóbal de la laguna or la laguna Candelaria El Medano

Angel was a great guide! He knew a ton about the island and kept us entertained the entire 8 hour day. Pickup was easy, during the car time he’d tell us about what we were seeing, culture and history of the island, local cuisine, etc. and during the stops he’d let us explore on our own but gave recommendations of what to do. He was funny, spoke great English, and I could tell he was passionate about this job. The van was very comfortable and new and even had Wi-Fi! I was staying in Costa Adeje in the south but wanted to see the north of the island as well. This was the perfect way to do it without having to rent a car and guide myself. Would recommend!

My friend and I really enjoyed this excursion because the guides were so friendly and kind to us! They made us feel at home and tried their best to make the experience enjoyable. This excursion allowed us to explore many places on the island for a good price. It would have been much more expensive to have done this on our own! 10/10 would recommend.

Great tour! Angel is an awesome guide, always ready to give you some info, tell you about the history or answer your questions.

Well worth of money, interesting tour. Professional guide.
