The tour begins early in the morning (5:15 am in March to October and 05:45 in November to February. There is also an option without Alms giving). We pick you up from your hotel and you have a fantastic opportunity together with the locals to witness the captivating centuries old daily tradition of the alms giving ceremony. Following that, we visit local morning market. You return to your hotel for breakfast around 7;00. We will pick you up again at 8:30 and take you to a small park on the peninsula tip. You will have a brief introduction to Luang Prabang, standing where the Nam Khan River meets the Mekong River. From there, walk to Wat Xieng Thong, the most revered temple in the country. Learn from your guide the typical architecture of the Luang Prabang style temples with their spectacular low sweeping roofs. Join local pilgrims for a glimpse into the daily Buddhist beliefs of the people. Next, we will go temple hopping in the neighborhood. At Wat Sene, where there is a school for novice monks, you may meet again with novice monks you met on the morning alms.  Finally, we will visit the Royal Palace museum.  It houses a lot of interesting historical items. Every item tells a story...so you will learn quite a lot from your guide about Lao history and about Laos’ royal. There is free time for lunch. We will guide you to the restaurant of your choice. The afternoon begins with a visit to the papermaking village of Ban Xang Khong on the Mekong River just outside Luang Prabang; after learning about the history of the war at the UXO Lao Visitor Center, we will visit Wat Wisunarat, the oldest temple in Luang Prabang. The day ends with a climb up Phousi Hill. Rising 150m in the centre of town, you enjoy spectacular 360 degree sunset views across the city and its many temples, and over the surrounding landscape to the mountains in the distance.

2. Luang Prabang: 4-Day Explorer Tour

Day 1 Upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport meet and greet your local guide at the exit of the arrival hall. Drive to the hotel where you can get some rest and relax at your own pace. Day 2 Enjoy a short but thorough guided tour of the city’s oldest temple Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong. With its roofs sweeping low to the ground, it embodies classical Laotian architecture. Then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, and take in a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as exploring the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, 2 linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, you will stop at the village of Ban Xanghai where they make the local rice wine and Ban Xangkhong a village well known for its silk weavings and for its Saa (jute) Papermaking. On return, visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai. You'll then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River.  Continue to explore the night market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by Luang Prabang locals. Return to the same hotel in Luang Prabang. Day 3 Wake up to the beautiful morning in Luang Prabang, and if you are an early riser, participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (sticky rice) from the residents. This tradition is unique to Laos, the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. After breakfast, drive about 15km out of town to journey to the elephant village in Ban Xienglom. En route stop at a famous and well-known village, Ban Phanom, where almost all of the villagers are weavers. Next, stop at Henri Mouhot, the explorer who discovered Angkor Wat, a monument at Kaeng Noon.  Once at the Elephant Village Camp, get up close and personal with elephants while you feed them. Visit the elephant hospital, museum, gallery, and dung paper making facility.  Return to the town visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Laoloum Village and Ban Thapene, Khmu Village, then drive to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. Returning to Luang Prabang by afternoon, you'll be back in the city in time to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath Tai. 3. Luang Prabang: Pottery Workshop & Wat Chomphet cycling Tour

Be met by your guide at the hotel lobby at 8:30 am, for the short transfer to the bike shop. Begin your short cycling to the Mekong River where you will board the local car ferry to cross the river to the quiet district of Chomphet. Over there you will not see many, if any, other tourists and very little traffic. Enjoy a day discovering local village life and visiting the pottery village that used to make pottery for the Royal Family. Disembark the ferry, stop en route to visit the old temple Wat Chomphet to see the view of Luang Prabang in the opposite side the Mekong. Then cycle the south-west direction of Luang Prabang towards Ban Chan, the pottery village where you will participate in the hands-on pottery-making class. Upon arrival you will be shown around the village to learn more about village life and the technique of pottery making that passed by for many generations, lunch will be served at the local house(Optional). Take your bike and cycle back to Luang Prabang, you will be transferred back to your hotel at the end of the tour.
