Full description
Journey to the Ribera del Duero wine lands and stop at 3 wineries in the heart of the Duero Valley. Sample the acclaimed wines of the region and learn about old and new wine-making techniques. Hear how grapes are grown in extreme weather and listen to stories about the families that turned the area into one of the world's most popular red wine producers. Journey back to the Middle Ages and encounter medieval villages and historic castles.  After visiting the first two wineries, there will be free time from around 1:00 PM-2:00 PM to have lunch (at own expense). You can lunch with a guide in a traditional restaurant with several options of Castilian regional food, ranging from tapas, a light lunch, or a full 3-course lunch (approximate budget = tapas €12-15, Full 3-course €30).

At first I felt distrustful that I couldn't locate the Guide, but he was punctual and very professional, I was surprised by his skill and care in confusing and excellent way of approaching the members of the tour. Was an okay tour. Should add more wineries and reduce the price as well. The guide didn't seem that much interested with the tour really. I missed that level of enthusiasm when it comes to wine. But it seems that he was outsourced and didn't work for the company directly. The last winery has a good history.

Fantastic day out. Ismail, being a winemaker himself, shared a lot of his expertise and knowledge. Choice of 3 different styles of bodegas was excellent. Ramon, the owner of one of them, greeted us on arrival and showed his caves full of wine.. Small group of 5 definitely helped and Ismail oragnised a lovely lunch at local taverna so we all had a local food. Great day out for wine-lovers.
