The Magritte museum is full of photographs and information that build a detailed picture of Magritte the man. There are sketches and films, as well as a wide range of his work from his early days as a graphic designer, through the the surrealism he is best known for. My only negative comment is that much of his best loved work is elsewhere, and much is still held in private ownership, se we didn't see as many as we had hoped.

Much bigger exhibition than I expected! A must-see for any Magritte fans. Lots of interesting and historical facts about the artist and his work! The Museum is a work of art in itself, with a huge open space in the main room with a beautiful ceiling and balconies with art, which I'd definitely go back again to see! There was more than one exhibition, so the building must be absolutely immense! Well curated and culturally rewarding, and great value for money... especially if you book online. 5 stars from me :)

A short train ride from Paris, Brussels is a nice way to escape the city for a day and visit a new country. Easily a comfortable day trip. The Magritte Museum was one of our stops in this lovely city. The museum was very nice and well organized with a variety of things to see. There are also a number of cute shops in the center of town..chocolates, pastries, waffles, pubs with local Belgium crafted beer, etc. We visited the Chocolate Museum as a last minute activity--interesting and a demo/sample at the end. A few beautiful parks and churches to tour. Highly recommended the museum and city.
