Full description

On your trip to Mallorca, don't miss this visit to the Caves of Drach, located in the town of Manacor. After being picked up, head straight to the Caves. These caves are an absolute wonder, formed millions of years ago by the water pressure of the Mediterranean Sea.

The Caves of Drach comprise 4 separate and gigantic caves full of impressive stalagmites and stalactites. The most interesting attraction of these caves is their 177-meter-long underwater lake, known as Lake Martel.

While inside the caves, admire a light show synchronized with the melodies of a small orchestra. Finish your visit with a stop at an exhibition on Manacor's pearl farming industry.

Learn all about the manufacturing process of these classic gems. Or, if you choose the full-day option, continue with a visit to the Caves del Hams, famous for its fish-hook-shaped stalactites and stalagmites—the cause of their unique shape is still unknown.

Then, finish off your full-day tour with a visit to the beautiful Porto Cristo, on the eastern coast of the island.

The pearl factory is quite short to navigate but you still feel pushed for time especially if you also need the toilet. I think we were there only for around ten minutes before we had to set off. There are a few stalls outside the venue but you'll need to decide between that and the factory. The caves are rightly popular and busy. Once you get past the initial flood of people taking pictures of the walls, the path eases up a little allowing some room to breathe as you enjoy the scenery. Once you hit the bottom, you are able to enjoy a short live orchestra. Pray that there are no babies to ruin the experience as was the case with me. Once the concert ends, you can choose between walking back to entrance or taking a short boat trip. Be warned that if you choose the latter, there's naturally a bit of a wait. Keep an eye on your time as departure is strict for return. Guide was great and provided history on the island and some venues as we made our way to our destination and back.

The beginning was difficult, we would be picked up directly in Palma and the bus had no signs that meant we had to ask every bus for ages. The tour is highly recommended. The guide is really great tells everything you should know. You have to see hell really great, will definitely book again, can only recommend it to anyone where Mallorca is.

Bus came about 15 minutes later. The guests from Playa de Palma had to change to another bus in Palma. That was a bit cumbersome but not too bad. The caves were impressive. Also the show. Only if you wanted to take the boat did you have to queue for a long time.
