Full description
On this 1-day tour from Marmaris you will visit Pamukkale, known as the 8th Wonder of the World. Meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, this natural formation contains hot springs and travertine, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. Because of the glorious white travertine and historical value, Pamukkale was added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1988. Pamukkale can be seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli, 20 kilometers away. On the top of this white “castle”, which is a total of 2,700 meters long, 600 meters wide, and 160 meters high, the ancient city of Hierapolis was built. Here you can visit an ancient Roman amphitheater, the historical museum which was formerly a Turkish bath, the ancient Cleopatra swimming pool, the monumental tomb of Saint Philippe, and the most magnificent Necropolis of Anatolia.

Apart from starting at the journey really early in the morning, from 6:20 am due to the long distance travel, the tour is quite enjoyable, beautiful viewing with excellent experience on it. The coach was very comfortable and selling the cold drink on the coach with the supermarket price, very convenient and thoughtful.

pick up went great the drive to Pamukkale takes some time but the bus is very comfortable, with a very nice tour guide which will tell you a lot of information and history and he will accompany the group during the whole trip. the stop where you will eat lunch is a nice place that has dried peppers everywhere wich looks amazing and you get a standard lunch. u need to pay extra to get entrance to the sight and extra if u want to swim in the Cleopatra pool, wich is not that much and if you dont want to swim u can just explore more of the beuatiful place. on the road back you will stop at a workshop that makes cups, necklaces and many more things of the stones found in the area. After that you will go to the leather factory which does not fit with people on vacation, prices are very high. then the long trip back to the hotel. All in all a very nice beatiful trip with a kind and a well informed tour guide.
