    Full description

    You’ll travel with an expert guide through an unspoiled landscape boasting centuries-old vineyards that have produced the famous Primitivo, Negromaro, Sussumaniello, and Aglianico e Bombino Bianco wines. This full-day excursion begins in Gioia del Colle. You’ll be taken on a tour by one of the owners of the organic vineyard, where the focus is on the fantastic Primitivo wine. We will take you through the organic wine production process. Head to the ancient city of Matera, which is home to movie director Francis Ford Coppola. Matera has been the setting for a number of well-known films.

    Take some free time for lunch and afterward visit the famous Sassi cave dwellings. In addition, you’ll have free time to explore the city at your leisure.

    Wonderful full day out to Matera and Puglia winery. Gio our guide was fantastic, sharing his knowledge of Matera and Puglia. He was very good answering all my questions. Both Gio and Julian our driver were friendly and very good company for the day. We started in the town of Matera and then walked down into the old town and historic area. We had a delicious lunch at a great restaurant in the old town. The food and service were outstanding. We stopped at a winery on the way home and had a generous wine tasting of several different varieties of wine all produced on site. Thank you Gio and Julian. My husband and I had a wonderful day. Thank you for your good company and for helping us learn more about Matera, Puglia and Italy. I highly recommend this tour and Green Italy Tours.
