An absolutely amazing experience! I'm so glad we did this tour instead of driving ourselves. Much more relaxing and enjoyable. Plus, how would you know anything about what you are seeing without an expert to tell you! And we definitely had an expert in our guide, Kammy! He was born and raised in Paia and Hana so he knows this area like the back of his hand. He relates stories about growing up here and the history of this beautiful place. I noticed that he knows almost everyone too because he was constantly waving at people waving at him. The breakfast of fruits and banana bread was terrific! Kammy treated us to various snacks along the way including some of the best fruit I've ever had and local chips. We had multiple choices for lunch, bar b q ribs, chicken, pork and I had braised pork cabbage. Along with the salad and pasta (everything homemade by the way by the woman whose home we ate at!), it was just fabulous!

My husband and I did this trip on our honeymoon (& also on our first time to Maui!) and it was amazing! Our guide was excellent - so accommodating and fun! She had so much pride in the Hawaiian culture and made the trip both fun and educational. The hot lunch from a local food truck was one of the best meals we had on our Maui trip! All around 100% would recommend!

Take the tour! I was going to drive this myself, man would that have been a mistake! There is no app or book or word of mouth that will guide you in this road like Mahlo Tours! They know this road, the places to stop, the history, how long to stay in each spot, where to look when, how to make you feel at home! Unbelievable! Worth every penny and more, I cannot recommend this enough!
