This hike was good for all levels. The section to get up to the summit may be a bit challenging for beginners. But if you're an experienced hiker, this hike will be just fine for you! Our guide (Fabrice) was excellent--very knowledgeable about the hike, mountain, and surroundings. Also, he was very personable and engaging. He made everyone feel included and supported.

Our guide was Dirk. Very fit, cool and personable type. He was open, friendly and helped us hike up, which was sometimes very steep, very good and gave lots of tips. We found the hike extremely great and only recommendable. However, you should be sure-footed and fit if you want to walk up to Le Morne. You had to climb quite a lot with your feet and hands at the same time. But it was super cool and I'm happy to have seen the great view of the sea from up there. Simply unique and really worth a hike.

Our guide Steeve was fantastic. He encouraged and assisted everyone to achieve a successful and safe climb. The climbing sections were challenging yet achievable with Steeve's expert guidance and local knowledge. Steeve was very entertaining and had a great amount of knowledge about the history and geography of the area. The view of Mauritius and the coastline were amazing too! Wear loose comfortable clothing (you will sweat a lot in the Mauritian humidity), take a small backpack to carry at least 2 litres of water, and wear comfortable running shoes (no need for specialised hiking boots or climbing shoes). A great experience.
