Full description

Enjoy a scenic tour of the wilder landscape of southwest Mauritius. Stop at the volcanic crater of Trou Aux Cerfs, where you can enjoy a panoramic view across almost the entire island.

Visit the ship model factory in Curepipe where their craftsmen are adept in the art of miniaturization and the techniques of replica work.

You will then head to the sacred lake of Grand Bassin, the most important place of worship for Mauritian Hindus and make a short drive to the Black River Gorges and stop at the Black River View Point, to see the island’s endemic flora and fauna.

Visit La Rhumerie de Chamarel to learn about the various stages involved in making the local rum, before tasting the end product! A delicious gourmet lunch will then be served in a local restaurant.

After lunch, the drive continues to Chamarel Village to admire the 90-meter high Chamarel Waterfall and curious 7-Coloured Earth, a natural phenomenon caused when basaltic lava converts the clay mineral into vibrant shades of red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow.

Take a winding drive to the southwest corner of Mauritius, and enjoy the drive through Macondé Bridge for panoramic views across the Baie Du Cap River.

We had a great day with Minta! She speaks German very well and was able to tell us so much about the country and its people. Splendid! You can buy souvenirs and rum along the way - but you don't have to. The food and the mojito at the rum factory were super tasty. The excursion is highly recommended.

We had a really great day trip. I booked the private tour so we had a minibus, a driver and the very good German tour guide just for the two of us. We immediately got on well with our guide Dina. Not only linguistically, because she speaks German very well. The chemistry was also right immediately. We learned a lot from her about the island, life on the island and also about the everyday life of the people in Mauritius. She was able to tell us a lot about each of the destinations she drove to. All in all a very worthwhile and entertaining day trip.

Hello we booked the tour and it was flawless. Absolutely to recommend!!! You just have to be careful when you're being chauffeured to 'exclusive' shops, most of which all advertise high-quality cashmere goods. It's usually overpriced there, so it's best not to buy anything. Despite my animal hair allergy, they tried to sell something. All the sights were great, the weather played along and our guide was super nice and explained everything very well in German. Great praise at this point, also to the sovereign driver. Lunch was also delicious at the Rhumerie de Chamarel. Starters, main courses and desserts fill you up really well. Please do it, the tour is worth it
