Meet your friendly local guide, and get ready to experience fabulous Santorini through its unique tastes and magnificent picturesque spots.
The day will start with a stroll around Fira, Santorini’s capital to spot uninterrupted views to Santorini Caldera while your guide will share with you Santorini’s ‘explosive’ stories!
Continuing your tour, stop in a vantage point to admire the photogenic Blue Dome of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, the most-renowned Google and postcard location of Santorini. Do not get surprised if Beyonce or Lady Gaga takes selfies next to you! Either way, capture the best photos there and blow up your Instagram account!
Later on, you’ll head to Oia, reasonably the most popular village of Santorini due to its dramatic setting at the edge of the steep cliff and its charismatic beauty. Stroll around cobblestone alleyways with whitewashed houses and Oia’s three bells Blue Domes, and click your cameras at our “local-secret” viewpoint spots!
Next in the itinerary, you’ll move inland to the postcard-pretty village of Pyrgos, the former capital of Santorini where you’ll explore its pastel-colored houses, the old churches and vineyards and through the windy pathways, you’ll walk all the way up the ruins of a mediaeval castle so as to admire great vistas. Going downhill to the village, it’s time to relax your muscles in a lovely spot where you’ll wake up those taste buds with local seasonal mezedes (our Greek tapas) such as tomato fritters, fava, white eggplant, Apochti (cold cut) and Chlorotyri (local cheese).
Once you’ve filled your belly, we’ll head to our next view point at the edge of the island. We’ll stop at one of the oldest lighthouses in Greece, the Akrotiri Lighthouse, which dates back to 1892 and according to many, boasts the best views in all of Santorini!
This tour wouldn’t be complete without tasting exceptional Santorini wines, being globally famous as the world’s oldest and with an exclusive character due to the volcanic conditions and specific cultivation techniques. Enjoy not one or two but four premium wines during a tasting session in a local winery with dazzling caldera views and a selection of local cuts and cheeses.
Don’t forget to ask your local guide for more hints and tips on how to get the best of your trip to amazing Santorini.
