Chicago: Holiday Lights Segway Tour

2. Chicago: Holiday Lights Segway Tour

Bundle up in your warm clothes and make your way to the starting point near Millennium Park in downtown Chicago to meet your guide for your Segway tour. Get started with a safety briefing and orientation to the Segway, then have time to become familiar with the controls and practice riding. Once you’re ready, set off with your expert guide through downtown Chicago.  Admire the holiday splendor of the Windy City as you watch ice skaters twirl around the Millennium Park Ice Rink, located below the city’s iconic silver ‘bean’ sculpture (officially named Cloud Gate). Then glide along Michigan Avenue under trees that glow with colorful lights and take in the fabulous holiday window displays at Macy's. Stop at Daley Plaza to check out the German-inspired Christkindlmarket, the city’s largest open-air Christmas festival. Made to resemble a European village in winter, the famous market features timber houses and festive booths that sell ornaments, gifts, and German fare such as bratwurst, fried potatoes, Gluhwein (mulled wine), and apple strudel. Have time to purchase a cup of hot chocolate to sip while taking in the market. You might hear a choir singing Christmas carols and spot the Christkind, the traditional gift-bearing angel in Germany. The 50-foot-tall (15-meter) Picasso sculpture appears to observe the holiday bustle from its perch in Daley Plaza while the city’s official Christmas tree glistens with ornaments and lights.  After taking a break to enjoy the holiday cheer at the Christkindlmarket, hop back on the Segway and zoom down State Street to appreciate the seasonal Macy's (formerly Marshall Fields) display windows. Finally, return to Millennium Park where your 2-hour tour ends.

What people are saying about Michigan Avenue

Kevin was the best tour guide. I was his first one person tour and he had an absolute blast. Not only was he professional but, he had a great conversation…it was almost like hanging out with a friend who had great Chicago information. Ian was also apart of my check in process and was very friendly and fun to interact with. Overall I would absolutely recommend this company to any solo travelers out there. The team is awesome and super friendly!

Tammy our guide was incredible. She was knowledgeable, considerate and extremely funny. She coped with a timid rider along with 3 very confident participants. The trip was varied, detailed and a brilliant way to cover a lot of ground efficiently.

It was an amazing experience. At first i was scared but to my surprise it was easy to use and enjoyed the 2hr tour. It was also informative, the guide was awesome.

No better way so see that much of the beautiful Chicago lakefront. The only way to cover that much ground and be that close up.

Great tour with lots of Segway time. Cari was informative and really loved her city.
