From Bayeux: Full-Day Mont Saint-Michel Tour

3. From Bayeux: Full-Day Mont Saint-Michel Tour

The Mont Saint Michel is an island off the coast of Normandy in the English Channel, and sees some of the biggest tides in Europe. The first church was built on the mount in 709 at the request of Archange Michael. The construction of the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey as we know it today was finished in the 13th and 14th centuries. Those hundreds of years of architectural prowesses have left us with a magnificent monument, now referred as the “Wonder of the Western World” and deemed a UNESCO world heritage site. Travel with a friendly driver and professional English-speaking guide from Bayeux to the Mont Saint Michel, which you will access via shuttle across the bridge in accordance with local requirements. Head to the very top of the mount and enter the abbey. The history of its construction will be explained in detail, while you marvel at stunning views of the surrounding bay. After visiting the abbey, explore the town at your own pace and pick up some souvenirs for friends and family. Your guide will suggest some great restaurants for lunch, suitable for all budgets. What people are saying about Mont Saint-Michel

we had an excellent lady guide, Mrs Gaëlle Lotton, who not only knew the History of the place perfectly well, but also how to tell it in an entertaining and interesting way. Despite the Covid-restrictions in place, we enjoyed our visit thoroughly (the more so as for once there were less people around, the masses of tourists during the summer normally being somewhat overwhelming)

A top guide who listens to her clients! An excellent moment which had started badly with a delay of 15 minutes ...... but totally compensated by the professionalism and the kindness of the guide ... it was perfect! I am used to private guides all over Europe, but this one is in the top 5!

Excellent tour. The guide was brilliant, very informative and helpful. The day is well organised considering it’s a very long day, with a great tour up to the abbey. I definitely recommend to take the guided tour as you will learn the history. A great trip!

The Florence guide is extraordinary, knows a lot and has a great attitude of the best guides that have touched us.

Amazing trip! Beautiful views and informative tour guide!
