After a pick-up at your hotel or riad in Fez, head out on a guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled-in cities. Explore the narrow streets lined with shops selling fresh fruits, spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and numerous other art and craft items from Morocco. Visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860 (note that non-Muslims are not permitted to enter). Take in other sites including the Nejjarine Fountain, the Bouaanania Medersa, dating from the 13th century and the Batha Palace, which is now a museum of arts and traditions.

Start your guided tour of Fes at the historic gates of Bab Bou Jeloud. Enter the medina of Fes el-Bali and discover the Islamic schools of the Madrasa Bou Inania and Al-Attarine Madrasa. Go to the University of al-Qarawiyyin and visit the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts. Look at its collection of traditional tools, furniture, carpets and musical instruments in a beautifully restored caravanserai.  Following lunch in the medina, learn how leather is processed just as it was centuries ago at one of the tanneries. Get a look at the Royal Palace, and then drive to the Bab Ftouh cemetery for a panoramic view over the medina.

Visit the blue gate known as Bab Boujloud. Take amazing pictures of the Jewish Quarter of the city, built in 1438. Gaze upon the Ibn Danan synagogue, one of the oldest buildings of its kind in North Africa. Hear of the history of the synagogue in Fes-Mellah.  Explore the King's palace, paying close attention to the beauty of the marble and copper gates. Discover the culinary delights for yourself, as the tour gives you free time for your own lunch. Wander the streets of Fes, browsing at various shops lined with fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, and handcrafted items. Admire Islamic mosques, one founded in 859, and another founded in 1351-56. After your pick-up in Casablanca at your hotel or at the harbor, you'll start the drive of about 3 hours to the holy city of Fez, where you will meet your guide.  Start the visit at Bab Boujloud, one of the gates which lead into the medina. Visit some of the beautiful ancient buildings such as the Madrasa Bou Inania and El-Attarine, Koran schools for religious studies, and the University and Mosque of Al-Karaouine. Visit the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts and discover traditional tools, carpets, furniture and musical instruments in a beautifully restored caravanserai.  After a lunch break in one of the hundreds of restaurants in the medina, continue to the famous tanneries, where the leather is still processed as it was hundreds of years ago. Observe the workers from a lookout, and learn about the different workings, and even bargain for a new bag or belt afterward.  Outside the medina lies the Royal Palace with its large plaza lined with palm trees. Last, but not least, drive up the hill to the cemetery Bab Fettouh, and enjoy the panoramic view over the white sea of houses of the medina. After your visit, your driver will meet you for the drive back to Casablanca.
