From Bali: Private 3-Day Gili Islands Tour with Snorkeling

3. From Bali: Private 3-Day Gili Islands Tour with Snorkeling

In between Bali and Lombok, 3 idyllic islands can be found: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. These little coral islands have a real laid-back tropical island feel and make perfectly placed hideouts from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. With no traffic and nothing but fresh ocean breeze, this 3-day 2-night tour takes you to see two of these islands for an excursion full of relaxation, and special moments to remember for a lifetime. Your first day starts with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Bali, which will take you to the harbor to a speedboat that will arrive at Gili Trawangan in just a few hours’ time. On the way, catch breathtaking views of Mount Agung and the deep blue sea. Once on the island, spend the day relaxing at a beautiful tropical island resort – lounge by the pool, dive in the sea or hop on a bicycle to explore the coastline. Don’t miss the sunset at one of the beach clubs – it’s a true spectacle of nature you don’t want to miss out on! Your second day features a private snorkeling tour on Gili Trawangan’s quieter but equally beautiful sister island, Gili Air. The 3-hour snorkeling tour takes you to see several amazing spots, beautiful coral reefs and colorful marine life. You’ll also get to swim with giant sea turtles, a magical experience! Spend the rest of the day as you like at another tropical resort – sipping cocktails, swimming, sunbathing – before another magnificent island sunset kicks in. If you’re an early bird, start day 3 early to catch the awe-inspiring sunrise of Gili Air. Otherwise, snoozing in bed to the sound of the sea is a lovely way to spend the first hours of your last morning on the Gili Islands. Enjoy one more swim in the turquoise sea, sit down for breakfast and say goodbye to these gorgeous islands. The speedboat will bring you back to the mainland of Bali where you will be transported to your hotel by shuttle bus.

Bali: Tulamben Bay and the USAT Liberty Wreck Dive

4. Bali: Tulamben Bay and the USAT Liberty Wreck Dive

Following pick-up from your hotel, journey to the village of Tulamben on the north-east coast of Bali, best known for its black beach covered with smooth, fist-size rocks. Upon arrival, head to Tulamben Bay to take part in a wreck dive and get close to the World War II cargo ship, the USAT Liberty. Located just 30 meters from the beach, the wreck measures an impressive 120 meters on a steeply sloping sandy bottom, with its top just 3 meters below the water surface. Sunk by torpedoes on January 11, 1942, the USAT Liberty was carrying rubber and railroad parts for war service across the Lombok Strait. The damage was critical, but 2 destroyers hitched her up and tried to tow her to the port at Singaraja. She was taking too much water, so the crew decided to run her up on the beach at Tulamben. The volcanic explosion of Gunung Agung in 1963 rolled her off the beach to the present location, breaking her in pieces along the way. Now completely covered with corals and home to hundreds of species of fish, the wreck is submerged to a maximum depth of 29 meters. Considered one of the best beach entry dive sites in Bali, the wreck of the USAT Liberty is just for starters! A 15-minute journey further east takes you to the Alamanda Reef and Batu Kelebit Reef. Travel by car 10 minutes west from Tulamben and you reach the village of Kubu, where access to the pristine Kubu Reef is easy. Night diving is especially popular, with an average visibility of 15 to 20 meters and water temperatures around 28 to 29 degrees Celsius. Join this diving adventure for a fantastic day in a unique area and get up close to the magnificent marine life along the way! Please note, this tour is only available to certified divers.

There are two common hiking routes up the mountain, which you will need to choose between.  Mount Agung Hike via Besakih Temple (from the West) The most challenging yet rewarding route for hiking up Mount Agung. From here, you are able to witness the stunning sunrise overlooking Mount Rinjani in Lombok. You will also have a masjestic view of the giant crater of Caldera Batur, and Lake Batur. Mount Agung Hike via Pasar Agung Temple (from the South) This is an easier, 3-4 hour hike in which you will ascend about 2,000 meters. It's not as challenging as the Besakih Temple route. We enjoyed a great day trip with Bonito. He is a super driver, understanding the traffic in Bali very well. We could reach our destinations really fast and safe. Bonito showed us the best of the best and organized every step of the trip in advance. Thank you very much for that. I can recommend this experience to anyone, who wants to see the highlights in Bali. Big big thanks to Bonito for making this day unforgatebke. We have our great pictures and memories.

Totally recommend! Especially if you like to soak up some of the history and culture of Bali visiting some of its most iconic temples. For the Gates of Heaven temple be ready to wait quite a long time for the picture (at the gates), wait times can range from 1 hour to up to 4! Our guide (Wayan) was great, kind, polite and extra friendly and helped us navigate all the lines to make the most out of our time!

Started at 5am to avoid long lines at the temples. Great initiative on their part. Furthermore the tour was awesome and the tour guide provided me with a lot of information about the temples but also Balinese culture, history and norms and values. The tour guide was a great guy to chat with along the way. Definitely recommend this tour and the tour guide!

Andina and his father (the driver) were the Perfect Guide that a tourist could ask! Very recommended tour: they were kind , helpfull in every step of the tour. They gave us many advises and information and explained in simple way many interesting aspects of balinese traditions . A fantastic day!! Thanks

It was very nice to visit all the temples, the driver Sandy was a great guide!
