Full description
Enjoy a full-day tour to discover the beautiful landscapes of the wine-growing regions near Portland. After pickup at your accommodation, travel through the verdant landscape of Willamette Valley, known for its hazelnuts, berries, Christmas trees, and Pinot Noir wine. Continue to the foothills of the western Cascades and ascend to the treeline on Mount Hood, the highest peak in Oregon. Spend an hour at the historic Timberline Lodge, built by local artisans during the Great Depression. Explore the interpretive displays, go hiking, or play in the snow, even in summer.  Afterward, drive to Hood River Valley to arrive at the first winery on the tour. Eat a farm-to-table lunch while enjoying a wine tasting at a boutique vineyard with a view of Mount Hood. Learn about wine production in the region and visit 1 other winery in the Columbia Gorge or Columbia Valley areas.  Travel through the Columbia Gorge and admire the towering basalt cliffs, before stopping at Multnomah Falls. Explore the tallest waterfall in Oregon during the 30-minute stop, where you can walk up to the Benson Bridge, visit the interpretive center, or peruse the gift shop. Afterward, you’ll head back to Portland to be dropped off at your hotel.

What an amazing day and great way to experience the true beauty in Oregon! Our guide at Terran Travels was Ben. He was friendly, knowledgeable and fun! Multnomah Falls was spectacular and the views on the way to Mt. Hood were breathtaking. The wineries we stopped at, especially Wy'East vineyards for lunch was beautiful and had have great wine! We really enjoyed the stop at the fruit stand and had fun exploring the shop and garden. Look no further, this is your tour!

Wonderful trip - and Marcus was one of the best guides we have had on any tour. He set the tone well in introducing our other fellow day trippers, was Incredibly knowledgeable without talking non stop, had a great sense of humor, and he clearly knows the right spots to visit. As for the 2 wineries? Small, boutique and great tastings along with a lovely charcuterie lunch, and as Marcus has worked at a winery in another ‘past life’(!) he added to that experience too. Perfect day, as was the weather although that was outside of Marcus’ skill set!! Thankyou!

Marcus, our guide was a wealth of information from history to fauna and flora, geology, ecology, imports/exports, to interesting facts along the way. His knowledge of wine and growing fruit, different types of ciders, wine, beer was extensive. He connected personally with each member of our tour equally and made the information conversational rather than instructional. Marcus is a safe and very confident driver (the sound system for the tour was perfect throughout the Mercedes). Pizza and wine lunch delicious and timely.
