Full description
After being picked up from your hotel, the tour will begin from Shatti Al-Qurum (next to the Intercontinental Hotel). From here, your tour will take you through the mountainous and desert landscape. Your driver will show you how to use the audio guide system to benefit the GPS enabled commentary that follows the tour. You will pass the coastal township of Quriyat before reaching Wadi Shab after an approximately 1.5-hour drive, after which your guide will take you for a 45-minute walk to reach the natural pools and cave. You will be permitted some time to swim in the area's clear, sparkling waters, before returning to the base after walking for another 45 minutes. You will spend 3 hours in the Wadi, which will include lunch at the Wadi Shab Resort. Following lunch, you will continue traveling through the village of Finns. You will discover its famous white sand beaches, as you drive the coastal scenic route to reach the dramatic Bimah Sinkhole, a miracle of nature, where you will be able to swim in its half-salted water. You will then commence your journey back to Muscat with a smooth drive after an active nature day in Oman. Your tour will later end in Shatti Al Qurum, from where you will transfer back to your hotel.

We were promptly picked up from Shatti Al Qurum. The audio commentary was interesting. We had just under 3 hr in Wadi Shab. The walk takes 45min-1 hr each way leaving 1hr to change, swim and reach the caves. We ran out of time and so didn’t reach the caves. 4hrs in WS needed unless you are a fast walker/swimmer. Definitely take swimming shoes or sandals that can get wet, or it will be very uncomfortable as you walk in the shallower water. This info should be included in the “what to bring” area on the website. Wadi Shab is truly stunning. Bimmah sinkhole is nice but potentially an anticlimax after WS. The booking desc. has 2 inaccuracies: - There is no guide to take you to Wadi Shab. - There is no lunch provided in Wadi Shab Resort. We ate at a small roadside cafe for lunch. Food fine, but we were a little concerned for hygiene. The driver kindly made a stop on our request at the stunning Fins beach. Dropped off 1hr earlier but would have rather had the extra hour in WS!

Very nice 40 minutes walk towards Wadi Shab. It’s a pity that there was no person-guide. Sometimes it was stress to figure out which way to go to reach skimming place and where exactly to enter water. One should take swimming rubber shoes as it is very painful to walk along the mountain river with edgy stones. It’s must to have if you plan to swim in Wadi Shab. The audio guide should include more Information about the country and excursion to fill the long drive.

The tour and destinations were great, but do note that the hike is not guided as mentioned by many here. It could be tricky at parts to discern the trail but there are occasional arrows to point you in the right direction. The hike would be average intensity but it is fairly long. You can also go at popular times so you can walk with others. If not, anytime after 2pm is usually good so it's not as hot.
