Full description

Benefit from pickup at your hotel in Da Nang in the early morning, and then travel towards the city of Hoi An. Enter the heritage site of the My Son Sanctuary to see the ruins of many temples used for religious ceremonies by the rulers of the Champa kingdom for ten centuries. Considered the foremost example of Hinduism in South East Asia, the temple complex has been ravaged by time and war. Look at the ruins of majestic temples and royal tombs, such as the early temple to King Bhadravarman and the remains of the temple of Sambhu-Bhadresvara constructed by King Sambhuvarman and destroyed by US aerial bombing during the Vietnam War. Return to Hoi An and get some free time to explore the ancient city center before the return journey to Da Nang.

Punctuality of the transfer (Hoi An Express) left a bit to be desired - although we were picked up on time from the hotel in Da Nang in Hoi An, we had to wait 30 minutes for the bus with the tour guide. Otherwise nice tour guide with very good knowledge of English;

the guide was great! good english and lots of knowledge of my son. the van getting us from danang to hoi an and back was not so good. lots of stops in between (took 2 hours from hoi an to danang!) and the driver didn't speak any English to explain what was happening..!

a well organised trip

We were picked up from our bnb accommodation, in Da Nang, and joined the rest of the tour in Hoi An. The guide was great (Eric - Nguyen). The only small minus is that it might have been good to have a quick look at the My Son museum before leaving. We then were taken back to Hoi An where we were able to spend a couple of hours looking round before being taken back to Da Nang. A good day out!
