After driving for one hour from Athens, you will discover the famous Corinth Canal. The Corinth Canal is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The canal elevated Piraeus’ status as a major Mediterranean port, a project which spanned many centuries. Cut through solid rock, the canal is more than 6 kilometers long and 23 meters wide, with its vertical sides rising 90 meters above the water. You will spend approximately 30 minutes at the canal, with time for photos and refreshments. Following the canal you will continue towards Mycenae, one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. You will see the Mycenaean Acropolis, the tomb of Agamemnon and the ruins of the Cyclopean walls that protected this mighty city. After approximately 1.5 hours at Mycenae, you will have the option to stop at a nearby village or town for snacks or a quick lunch. Your your will conclude with your drop off at the pickup point, or any preferred central point in Athens or Piraeus.

On your day tour of Corinth, you will see ancient ruins, the Corinth Canal, and then a charming coastal town. The ruins of ancient Corinth are the most famous attractions, and they reveal much about the city’s past. See the Temple of Apollo, a huge area dedicated to religious rituals and ceremonies. At 8:30 in the morning, you'll depart from your hotel in Athens. You'll be driven by a private guide and driver to the Corinth Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the Corinth Canal, you'll have one hour of free time to explore by foot. You'll then depart for the ancient city of Corinth. You'll have time to explore the Archeological Museum and walk along the many winding streets before arriving at your hotel in Corinth for lunch at a local restaurant. The tour continues with a visit to the Ancient Agora of Corinth, the site where Socrates taught, Plato and Aristotle studied and Aeschylus wrote. There was an ancient port on the Corinthian bay of the Saronic gulf. The Acropolis of Corinth, which had been a temple complex and then a citadel, is now open to the public as it has been since 1893. Archaeological excavations have revealed numerous buildings and temples in various states of preservation. In addition to the well-preserved Temple of Apollo, the most impressive of the Corinthian temples is the Temple of Apollo Epicurius The village of Napfilio is near the canal and is one of Greece's most beautiful villages. Napfilio's most famous landmark is its old monastery, which sits high on a hill overlooking the village. The Canal of Nafplion, which starts in the town of Nafplio and ends at the ancient city of Corinth, passes through many towns and villages. Napfilio is one of the most famous villages on this canal. It is a beautiful small village located near an old monastery. The name Napfilio comes from the word "neb-pilio" which means 'nose'. This is due to the fact that in ancient times, the inhabitants of Napfilio had an acute sense of smell and could distinguish between the forms of animals by scent. The town is situated at an altitude of 987 meters, and it is noteworthy for its olive trees. At the end of this amazing tour, you'll be taken back to your hotel in Athens. The total duration of the tour will be 12 hours from pick up to drop off.
