Ricardo our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and passionate about archaeology. His English was also excellent. We were late joining the group to start with but Ricardo still hung on for us and made us feel welcome once we arrived. A thoroughly informative and enjoyable tour.

Riccardo was a fantastic tour guide. Trained as an archeologist, he was very informative, interesting, animated, responsive to questions, and also speaks excellent English. His love for his subject came through and his enthusiasm made the tour all the more enjoyable. It was a fascinating experience that we highly recommend.

Riccardo was amazing! He was friendly and helpful. He patiently answered all of my questions, and he spent as long at a given site as I wanted :) But more importantly, he was passionate about what he was doing. It was clear that he wasn't "just another bored tour guide, repeating the same spiel" but rather an extremely well-informed local who was intimately familiar with the site and all of its history and who clearly delighted in sharing it with us. Riccardo actually offered to stay past our two-hour booking time, just to allow us more time to fully enjoy Herculaneum in depth. Unfortunately, we had to leave to catch our train back to Naples. All in all, this was a fabulous experience, and if I visit other archaeological sites, I will definitely look into having an archaeologist as a guide. Highly recommend!
