This tour consists in a marvelous walk around of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, buried from the ashes of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. On this tour you'll be able to see all the major highlights. A walk in Pompeii is a very intense experience; you'll have the feeling of wandering in a town that is still alive. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private houses on a walking tour. Highlights include the Marina gate, the basilica, the forum, the forum baths, the lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium Capuano, the house of Tragic Poet and the plaster casts. Stop for lunch in a typical restaurant, winery or pizzeria. Then go to Herculaneum for another private guided tour. Herculaneum is much smaller but better preserved than Pompeii.
