I could have spent an entire day in each room of the museum. I especially enjoyed the interactive feature which allowed visitors to listen to an an endless number of artists, with the option to download the music for future listening. The accompanying historical presentations were very comprehensive and gave a well deserved appreciation of the African American's contributions, innovation and creativity to American music. (And, everyone in the room stopped in their tracks to enjoy Prince!)

Impressive and extensive are two words that comes to mind. That characterization is well supported by a warm and welcoming team that was very supportive of their visitors taking in the whole world of music presented here. The sure organization of this exhibit was such that many people can have a uniquely different experience at the same time. This to me, is indeed the essence of African America and further the true experience of African American Music. One can see the roots of many streams and visualize indelible impact that our music had on..well...everything. I will come back again and again because there is much to learn, and quite simply, I love everthing about it. Linnie E. Yarbrough, Sr.

We enjoyed the live music in the lobby, the introduction in the auditorium and all of the exhibits. The interactive booths, videos, tables with ear phones and the staff were really helpful. There were artist we didn't see, but I guess you can't have them all. And most of all, their awareness of COVID was evident. There was a check point when we entered the building, signs encouraging us to stay within 6 feet of others, covers for the earphones and space between the seating in the auditorium. We really ENJOYED it.
