After pickup, your first stop is Derinkuyu, the biggest underground city of Cappadocia. It goes to a depth of 85 meters and has several floors. Vertical staircases provide access to the third and fourth floors, leading to the cruciform church on the lower floor. A ventilation shaft 55-meters deep was also used as a well. The early Christians built their houses and temples carved into the rock, carving tuffs in the Ihlara Valley, along the Melendiz River. With full stomachs, stop at the outskirts of Göreme, which opens up the Pigeon Valley with age-old rock-cut dovecotes. Next, head to the Selime Monastery to witness the huge kitchen and the high chimney. The center of the structure carved into the rock is the church, surrounded by a gallery and stables with feeders and many other remnants of the Middle Ages. The final destination will be Göreme Esentepe. Here you will see solidified lava flows dating back to the Neocene period. It formed an incredible landscape of tuff and ash in Göreme. Day 1 After meeting at Kayseri airport in the morning, you will drive for approximately one hour to Cappadocia. Meskendir Valley (4.400m Trek) Our first destination is the Meskendir Valley, where groups will embark on a short trek through its magnificent landscape. Situated near Ortahisar, the valley stretches 440 meters and contains the famous Meskendir Church. Visitors are free to explore its interior, which is beautifully adorned with geometric red embellishments, and take in the large cross engraving on the chapel ceiling. Rose Valley No visit to Cappadocia would be complete without a visit to the Rose Valley, with its beautiful rock formations and hidden churches carved from rock. The isolated valley is located behind Urgup. Countless tracks connect small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens, stretching like a spider web. The village is also home to the Church of John the Baptist, the biggest cave church in all of Cappadocia, which dates back to the fifth century. Underground City Of the 36 underground cities built by the Christians to escape persecution, the one we visit is the widest and most famous. No tour of Cappadocia would be complete without a visit here. It is divided into eight different levels, four of which visitors can explore, including a fascinating network of wineries, kitchens and living areas. Pigeon Valley On the outskirts of Goreme, we will stop and take in the views down to Pigeon Valley, named for the ancient pigeon houses carved into the cliff faces over centuries. Long ago, farmers throughout the region used pigeon manure as a rich source of fertilizer for their crops. Uchisar Castle Panaroma Our final stop is in the troglodyte town of Uchisar, situated in the heart of Cappadocia. Uchisar Castle is named after the enormous rock standing in the center of town that once served as its castle. It is the highest peak in the area, offering unbelievable views across Cappadocia and Erciyes Mountain. Love Valley The huge phallic formations of Love Valley have been formed naturally thanks to erosion of the volcanic rock, approximately 9 to 3 million years ago. Some formations are up to 40 meters high! Love Valley presents visitors an unusual landscape of cones, pillars, pinnacles, mushrooms and “fairy tale chimneys.”

Yuell was a terrific guide. He was very knowledgeable, and I loved all of the tidbits he shared. He was so personable!! The tour itself was fabulous and simply mouth-dropping gorgeous. It rained briefly, but that did not ruin our day in the least. This was one of my favorites!
