Full description
For many years this Cajun community has built huge wooden structures along the Mississippi River levee to be lit up in flames. The bonfires, built in the shape of cabins, tepees, or riverboats, light the way for Papa Noel to arrive in Bayou Country. Choose between two ways of experiencing the "feux de joie", or fires of joy:  1) Bonfire Express Tour This tour includes round-trip narrated motorcoach transportation from New Orleans to the bonfire site. A police escort will then accompany a “sleigh of coaches” to view the bonfires.  2) Bonfire Adventure Tour This tour includes round-trip narrated motorcoach transportation from New Orleans to the bonfire site. A police escort will then accompany a “sleigh of coaches” to view the bonfires. After seeing the bonfires, you will enjoy a guided tour of the San Francisco Plantation, built in 1855. Reported to be the most opulent plantation house in North America, it was constructed in the Creole open suite style, under centuries-old oak trees. Inside the house, see one of the finest antique collections in the country. A traditional Christmas dinner will be served on the property, before you return to New Orleans.
