Full description

Discover the rich culinary heritage and history of New Orleans on a guided walking tour of the famous French Quarter. Sample local specialties as you learn about the various cultural influences which have shaped Cajun country.

Meet your guide on the banks of the Mississippi River, and start your culinary journey with the most important meal of the day, a tasty breakfast. Try the beignet, a deep-fried sweet dough treat.

Head next to the oldest public market in the United States, the French Market. A destination popular with visitors for over two centuries, here you will try a local dish from one of the stalls and meet some colorful local characters.

Begin exploring the streets of the French Quarter, which is often called the Crown Jewel of New Orleans.

Next, try some traditional gumbo, perhaps the most famous dish of New Orleans. Learn why its recipe sparks much controversy amongst chefs and discover how hundreds of years of history have helped shaped this dish, and how it varies from restaurant to restaurant throughout the area.

Finish the tour with something sweet, some rich local praline made from the region’s generous array of pecans and locally grown sugarcane.

All the tours were great! Food tour we learned the local food from local and jazz cruise we enjoyed the musics. The highlight was the swamp tour and we encountered 5 alligators for an off season time. The guides are great people and very personal and knowledgeable. We like New Orleans - from food to sceneries to people plus the abundant cultures!

Overall a good tour. Our tour guide Neil was the best part as he was very personable and kinda. He knew a lot about the food and history of the city. A colorful character for a colorful city indeed. The food was good but not great and hard to justify the price paid for a group of four.

Laurin was wonderful. She took us to great restaurants including hidden gems. Her knowledge of the french quarter is spectacular and of the dining history of Creole and Cajun food is spectacular. Who would have thought of taking a scoop of potato salad along with gumbo?? Th is a great combo! We would do this again in a nanosecond.
