Full description

Embark on a whale-watching adventure off Newport Beach and look out for a variety of whales, including humpback whales and blue whales. Observe marine life in the wild and admire the Newport-Laguna coastline.

On these year-round cruises off Newport Beach, many whale varieties are regularly seen including the giant blue whale (summer and fall), finback whale, grey whale (winter and spring), minke whale, and humpback whale. Several types of dolphin, seals, and all sorts of other marine life are typically spotted on the excursions as well. The cruises depart from Newport Harbor, located in the heart of Orange County, which is just a short drive from both Los Angeles and San Diego. Each cruise is a unique experience as you may never know what you might encounter. A recent cruise encountered a pod of more than 30 killer whales, including adults and their young, making for a whale watching adventure of a lifetime. Everyone that I interacted with was polite, and very helpful. I was so glad to have Jill on the boat. She would point out the wildlife, and give us information about what we saw. I learned a few things that I didn't know. I enjoyed her energy, and how she was so polite, friendly to talk to.

You never know if you will see a whale or not, and we didn’t, but we came across a “mega pod” of over 1,000 dolphins, which was totally awesome. They were riding our bow wave, sometime as many as 8 or 10 at a time, as we stood literally four feet above them looking down over the bow. And they were jumping out of the water all around us. It was the coolest thing we saw while we were in California.

Excellent!!! My daughter birthday weekend in Newport was awesome. The captain and staff are very nice and makes you feel at ease if your scared or have motion sickness. Catching the first boat ride in the morning around 7:00am was cool. Coming from Arizona the weather was nice, the breeze was so Oceanus, I will recommend this to my friends and family. Though we didn’t see any whales due to Migration about this time of season... we saw a Sun Fish, Sealions, and big pod of bluefin Dolphins. Well worth the trip. Thanks Davey’s
