After being picked up from your accommodation between 8:00-8:30AM, you will depart to Ninh Binh. On the way you will be able to see scenery of rural living in Vietnam, complete with green fertilizer fields. You will also be able to witness local wildlife such as buffalo eating grass and ducks swimming. Your first stop will be at the Hoa lu Temple, the first capital of Vietnam which was built in the 10th century. After having arrived, you will spend a few minutes receiving an overview on these grounds. Following this, you will venture towards the Mua cave, which was constructed following the model of a 'miniature great wall' in china, containing nearly 500 steps up to the mountains. you will spend around 1-hour trekking up to the top of the mountain where you will receive an overview of the impressive panoramic views of Tam Coc, Trang an & Ninh Binh city. At 12:30 you will travel on the bus to Tam Coc, where you will have a lunch consisting of special Vietnamese foods. After this, you will get on a small boat to travel around Tam Coc for about 1.5 hours. Starting at 8:00 you will be picked up at your hotel and brought to our meeting points 7 Dinh Tien Hoang. Then take 120km drive through rural northern Vietnam to Ninh Binh. Our first stop is at Hoa Luu - the first royal capital of Vietnam’s centralized feudal state from 968 – 1010 led by three dynasties of Dinh, Early Le and Ly. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel, we start our 12km cycling trip through country roads from Hoa Lu to Tam Coc (Three grottos). On the way we will stop to take photos of the farmers working on their rice crop with the magnificent scenery of Limestone Mountains in the distance. After 1 hour cycling we arrive to Tam Coc resting and you may purchase lunch at a local cafe. In the afternoon take a sampan on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karsts jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place’s other name, ‘Halong on Land’. Late afternoon we return to Hanoi, the trip ends.

This is a must do activity when in Hanoi! Do not miss it! The view after climbing 500 steps is just unparalleled and beautiful!! The 1 hour boat ride though the green fields surrounding by hills is just splendid! Highly highly recommended activity!! Our guide Mr Kay (Mr K?) is just awesome!
