Full description
Improve your Oaxaca experience by joining us on our exciting excursion! The tour begins with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Oaxaca de Juarez and takes you deep into the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, where you'll discover the charming town of Ocotlan de Morelos. Our first stop of the day is the town's main church, which holds emblematic significance for the community and is adorned with stunning Neoclassical details. As we continue our tour, we'll visit Ocotlan de Morelos' traditional plaza, where you can witness residents and craftsmen from nearby towns coming together every Friday to trade and sell local products. Follow our expert guide through the plaza and take in the unique atmosphere of this vibrant hub. Then, stop by a local cafe and sample the delicious Tejate, also known as the "drink of the Gods". Our next destination takes us to Santo Tomas Jalieza, where we'll explore a small community dedicated to the art of Waist Loom, a pre-Hispanic textile technique. Learn about the history of this craft and watch as local artisans create vibrant clothes, bags, and other unique pieces using cotton threads. After working up an appetite, indulge in a selection of mouth-watering Oaxacan delicacies while discovering more about the culture's traditions and people. The final stop of the tour takes us to San Martin Tilcajete, a charming town bursting with colorful crafts and handmade trinkets. Take your time to wander around the town and admire the incredible art pieces created by local artisans inspired by nature. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to experience the beauty, culture, and traditions of Oaxaca. Book your excursion today!

Luis was great! As the only English speakers in the group, he was sure to include us, which was very nice. He took great care of us! He also communicated with us, where he was, timing, etc. It was very helpful. Just an FYI-This tour is very geared toward shopping, but the items are handmade and very beautiful.

We had a great day. Our guide Ivan was very informative and taught us a lot about the history, politics and culture of Oaxaca!

Ocotlan is beautiful, the market an experience. Except, Oaxaca's markets are pretty much the same. The tour will stop in the artist villages. One should be aware of that. It bothered us that we didn't have a lunch break in between. Due to the pandemic, we had the driver and gight to ourselves, which clearly had advantages.
