From Orosei: Tiscali Mountain & Nuragic Village Hike

2. From Orosei: Tiscali Mountain & Nuragic Village Hike

Start the tour with pickup from your hotel in Orosei, Sos Alinos, Galtelli, Cala Gonone, Dorgali or Oliena, then set off for the Lanaitho Valley. Begin the hike with a gentle walk through oak trees and Mediterranean scrubland.  Then, follow the path as it climbs the slopes of the mountain passing majestic Juniper trees and more imposing oaks. When you reach the top, pay a visit to a rocky cave and admire the ruins of the Nuragic village. Learn about the ancient Sardinians who used to live in this remote area. After the tour inside the cave, continue walking along the ridge of Monte Tiscali - the most scenic part of the trek. Be enchanted by the wonderful views all around and find a scenic location for your picnic lunch, either immersed in the woods or overlooking the valley from a panoramic rocky terrace. Finally, return back to the starting point and enjoy a convenient return transfer back to your hotel. If you prefer, ask the driver to drop you off at another location on the route back.

Dorgali: Trek to Gorropu with Panoramic Views

3. Dorgali: Trek to Gorropu with Panoramic Views

Meet your guide in Orosei or Dorgali before starting the adventure with some off-road driving to descend into the valley where the trek path begins. The hike starts with some water wading through the Flumineddu river to enter the woodland area formed of Old Oaks, Arbutus and Mediterranean shrubs. Walk along the cliffs of Monte Oddeu and arrive at the entrance to the Gorroppu gorge in less than 2 hours. Admire the incredible rocky walls which rise for more than 400 meters over the dry river bed, making this gorge one of the deepest canyons in Europe. Today the canyon is a natural border between the Italian territories of Urzulei and Orgosolo. The canyon was formed when the Flumineddu river excavated the Jurassic limestone that formed when Sardinia was covered by the sea. Learn from your guide how the marine rocks are full of fossils from ammonites, fish and algae found in the area, and hopefully catch a glimpse of such an artifact. During the trek, discover the unique micro climate of the canyon that allowed the giant growth of the trees including the Phyllirea and the Old Yew. As you continue on the hike, the path becomes harder and harder, you may have to use your hands to proceed through the boulders. When it is no longer possible to go further, it’s time to head back.

5. From Orosei: Gastronomy, Wine Tasting & Landscapes Tour

Start the tour with pickup from your hotel in Orosei or Sos Alinos. First, drive to the Su Barone Nature Reserve, in the territory of Orosei, an area known for its spectacular wetlands and beaches. After exploring the natural scenery, head over to the Nuraghe di Osalla Tower which is settled in a strategic position over the landscape and boasts spectacular views. Click now on the "Book it" button. Do not hesitate a single moment, because this was the best tour I had in Sardinia ! Not only is the area just stunning. Antonello is the greatest of the best ! He is everything a local guide should be and so much more. He knows the area as his own pocket and cares for it. He is proud to show you this Sardinian pearl, but with respect for the environment (cultural and natural). He knows the do's and dont's and is not affraid to adjust the schedule and plan according to the actual situation. Too crowded beaches -> he will find a deserted alternative. Too little sunshine -> he will move the clouds. On top of that, he is just a wonderful guy, funny, has a lot of knowledge about Sardinia and is just super to hang out with. Antonello is the perfect guy, in the perfect area, offering a perfect day => BOOK KNOW !!!

Excellent day. Very relaxing. We saw 3 beautiful beaches for over 1.5 hours each that you cannot reach unless on a boat. We saw many natural beautiful features on the Sardinian coast, and our guide was excellent, he was great fun and impressively could speak most European languages pretty well! Would highly recommend it, just make sure you pick a nice sunny day and bring a warm jumper for the boat home.

It was a very successful tour, great beaches for snorkeling and swimming, a relaxed atmosphere on board, a fun and friendly guide, wine on the way back at sunset! Everything perfect!

Highly recommended tour with a super friendly and fun guide! There were stops everywhere and there was a lot on offer! We would definitely do it again.

Really worth every penny! The beaches can only be reached by boat and are therefore not overcrowded. I would do it again anytime :-)
