Barcelona: Mies van der Rohe Pavilion Ticket and Audio Guide

2. Barcelona: Mies van der Rohe Pavilion Ticket and Audio Guide

Visit the emblematic Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona with an entry ticket complete with audio guide. Designed by Mies van der Rohe and Lily Reich, the Pavilion was the German national pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition. Once the event was over, the Pavilion was dismantled. However, given the structure’s significance, the pavilion was later reconstructed and reopened on its original site in 1986. Today, this emblematic work of the Modern Movement serves as a benchmark that has not only been deeply influential for generations of architects and artists but also laid the foundations of modern architecture. The purity of its forms, its sobriety, the linear interplay between interiors and exteriors, and the precise contrasts in the palette of materials exquisitely chosen and brought from the Alps, Tivoli, Atlas, and Tinos all combine to form a perfect balance in this jewel of modern architecture.

Barcelona: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell with Hotel Pickup

3. Barcelona: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell with Hotel Pickup

Enjoy pickup from your hotel, and a comfortable ride, where your expert guide will share fascinating stories about the city’s one-of-a-kind architecture, culture, and history.  The tour will begin next to the Mediterranean Sea, home to the golden sand beach of Bogatell, before following the coastline towards Port Vell (the Old Port). There your guide will show you the Gothic Drassanes and the iconic Columbus Monument located at Barcelona's most famous street, La Rambla.  From there, the guide will take you up Montjuïc Mountain to Mirador de l'Alcalde, a beautiful terrace with wonderful views of Barcelona’s iconic skyline. The Mountain of Montjuïc was once the main venue of the 1992 Olympics. Nowadays, you can still admire the Olympic Stadium. You can also find plenty of examples of urbanism and architecture designed for the International Exhibition of 1929. These include Plaça Espanya, The Magic Fountain, the Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion, and The National Palace. The tour will continue down the mountain to the Old Town. There you will leave the vehicle for a while as the narrow streets of the charming Gothic Quarter must be explored on foot. Your guide will take you to the hidden corners of this neighborhood while unveiling the Roman and Medieval history of its streets. After discovering the Old Town your guide will take you to the neighborhood that was made to expand the city beyond its walls, l’Eixample. This district was designed in the 19th-century by the urban planner Ildefons Cerdà. Its grid pattern and wide avenues offer a stark contrast to the more chaotic Old Town.  The visit of l'Eixample will start at Plaça Catalunya, Barcelona’s central plaza. The square connects to the boulevard Passeig de Grácia, which features some of the best examples of Modernist architecture. Take a moment to admire the striking façades of private Modernist buildings including Gaudí's famous La Pedrera and Gaudí’s Casa Batlló and the Casa Lleó Morera and Casa Ametller. Your guide will take you to the crown jewel of Barcelona, Gaudí's masterpiece of La Sagrada Familia. After an extensive explanation of the hidden religious symbolism in the façades of La Sagrada Familia, enter the building. You are sure to be captivated by Gaudi’s incredible architectural style, the peculiar shape of the columns, ceilings, and walls, and the organic architecture of the basilica.  Finally, your guide will take you all the way to Park Güell. This magical park is located on the top of a hill that provides spectacular views of Barcelona. In the park’s famous gardens, Gaudí combined his unique architectural style with elements of nature. The result is a place of pure fantasy guaranteed to amaze you.

I only booked this bus trip because my mother is not prepared to walk a lot, but I was wrong, this bus ride is awesome for everyone that wants to see Barcelona. You can step out of the vehicle and take another one to continue the trip. They have 2 different courses: a red one and a blue one, that will show different monuments and sights in Barcelona. In one day you can do both, but if you have more days to see everything more deeply, I'll recommend you buy these tickets!

Great way to see the city. Really interesting commentary in 15 languages and really helped us decide what stops we wanted to get off and look at. Only drawback on some of the stops were that they weren’t very clear where to pick the bus up from when walking between them. We spent ages looking for the stop by Glories and arc de triumph so ended up getting the metro

Great way to get a feel for the whole city. Busses came often which was good because sometimes they were too full and we couldn’t get in the first one.

My special compliment to tour guide Mateus for his excellence services. We had enjoyed with great satisfaction. Muchas Gracias! Tony Foo Singapore

Very good for know touristic points in the city. You can stop, know the place and take again the bus for a new point.
