Full description
Enjoy a full-day shore excursion to Corleone, a small town that has had its history and culture shaped by the Mafia. Visit the museum in Corleone and admire the breathtaking scenery of Sicily as you journey through green valleys, cornfields and vineyards. Corleone is a small town and commune of approximately 12,000 inhabitants in the province of Palermo in Sicily, Italy. Several Mafia bosses have come from Corleone, including Tommy Gagliano, Jack Dragna, Giuseppe Morello, Michele Navarra, Luciano Leggio, Leoluca Bagarella, Salvatore Riina and Bernardo Provenzano. It is also the birthplace of several fictional characters in The Godfather, including the eponymous Vito (Andolini) Corleone. The local mafia clan, the Corleonesi, led the Mafia in the 1980s and 1990s, and were the most violent and ruthless Mafia clan ever to take control of the organization. The Corleone municipality has an area of 22,912 hectares (56,620 acres) with a population density of 49 inhabitants per square kilometer. Located in an inland area of the mountain, in a valley between the Rocca di Maschi, the Castello Soprano and the Castello Sottano. Corleone is located at 542 meters (1,778 feet) above sea level. Many interesting sights of nature include the Gorges of the Dragon in the vicinity of the Ficuzza forest and the Due Rocche Waterfalls.

Michael the driver pick us up in front of the hotel on time and drove us to Corleone where he left us in front of the museum where we were guided by another Michael. His english was not good but he is also funny and also a good host. If you want you can have lunch there. I recommend to eat there, not in Ficuzzo. Museum is all about history of mafia, just to be clear, nothing to do with a movie. We also had a free time to visit nearby waterfalls and then went to Ficuzzo where we had lunch (the service was slow and dish was too salty) and visited local castle (sweet and nice, ticket is 2.5e per person).

It was a very good trip. Palermo is a good city for a pick up destination points instead of pick up from hotels. That would save everyone a lot of time as it is tricky at times to get out of the city itself. So worth for the company to consider it. The trip itself was lovely. Corleone is a nice town in a lovely location.

Great excursion, driver collected us at the agreed time. First we had a tour around the Godfather House museum in Corleone village. Our guide was full of personality and had some interesting stories to tell. Even if you're not interested in the mafia, you can learn about typical sicilian life in the past. From there we walked to the nearby nature park with waterfall and beautiful scenery. Finally we visited the Royal house in Ficuzza, which was also interesting to see. We had a great day. The Godfather museum costed €12.50 additional per person, and the Royal House was €2.50
