Unfortunately there was no sun protection at the bird show, the sun was shining quite strong. You should definitely have protection from the sun with you. Otherwise everything was really well organized, the park / facility was clean, friendly staff. Weather was extremely nice. The dolphin and bird show were really nice and also very well designed. The animal enclosure was lovingly prepared and clean - you don't get the impression that the animals are doing badly. Another highlight, in addition to the dolphin show and bird show, was the opportunity to feed emus. :)

A great day out, well worth it..

A great day out, Shade all round except at the bird & dolphin shows. Ensure you get to the dolphin show early or stay afterwards and you can get a picture touching the dolphins for €20 each, (will need to take shoes off and stand in shallow water) well worth it but not publicised!. If you get up to the bird show early, go passed the cafe/bar and you can look down at the dolphins warming up!. Food & drink is obviously expensive so ensure you at least take a bottle each. The zoo is on the side of a mountain so may be difficult/slow walk for elderly/less able walkers.. is slopes/steps but all paved so buggies should be ok!. There’s enough toilets, benches and bins set all over park and nice picnic areas. thoroughly enjoyed my day out with my 4 & 15 year olds. we came away happy after seeing all the animals and touching a dolphin!. They feel like a rubbery sponge by the way!!.. have fun and book online at least a day before=no cues! Get there by taxi (ropy road leading up) get there for10.
