Panama City: Money Heist and San Blas Islands Day Trip

1. Panama City: Money Heist and San Blas Islands Day Trip

Be collected from your accommodation in Panama City between 5:20 AM and 6:00 AM to start the day trip. Drive 2.5 hours to San Blas Port, Carti, and then take a local Panga boat to the first of the San Blas islands. Here, enjoy a light breakfast of fresh fruit and take some time to sunbathe with provided umbrellas, beach chairs, and towels. You can also use kayaks or paddleboards to explore the island surroundings. Afterward, enjoy a lunch of fresh fish, rice, and salad. After lunch, sail onwards to Perro Chico, known as the best snorkeling spot in the San Blas Islands. Here, you can see a variety of colorful fish species and a sunken boat. Next, visit Island Pelicano, made famous by the Netflix series Money Heist. Finally, head to the natural swimming pool. This is a bank of sand in the middle of the ocean where you can walk or swim around to find your starfish. At 3:30 PM, sail back towards the port and return to Panama City in the evening. On weekends, before coming back to the port, you'll visit one of the largest communities in San Blas to witness a traditional dance put on by locals.

Panama City: 1-Night San Blas Islands in Sea Huts

3. Panama City: 1-Night San Blas Islands in Sea Huts

Spend a full day and night on the San Blas Islands: swim, kayak, and paddle out on the water and overnight in a bungalow on the beach. San Blas is an indigenous zone, so prepare for a rustic time. There’s no hot water, Wi-Fi, electricity, or other amenities, so you’ll spend 2 days experiencing what life is like for the Gunas. On the morning of Day 1, you’ll be picked up at 5:20 AM from the lobby of your Panama City hotel and taken on a 2.5-hour trip by 4WD over the San Blas hills up to Port Tupile. From there, take a typical Guna boat on a 30-minute ride to paradise over turquoise waters. Arrive on the white sand beach where you’ll spend 2 days and 1 night in a bungalow right on the beach. The Yani Lodge bungalows are rustic with shared bathrooms, and the island is very calm. On the island, taste the catch of the day around mid-day and then take a tour with a guide to Perro Chico, where you can snorkel in a sunken boat full of colorful fish. Then, visit a natural swimming pool and spot starfish and other marine wildlife. Spend the rest of the time kayaking, paddle-boarding, or just relaxing on the beach.   On Day 2, enjoy breakfast and transportation back to Panama City around 8:30 AM, arriving around 1:00 PM to your hotel.

First I have to talk about how great the customer service is. When I got to Panama, Google blocked my email due to suspicious activity so I couldn't get the info on the tour. I emailed them from another account and they helped me get all my information transferred over so I wouldn't miss the activity. This was <12 hours before I was supposed to be picked up. So great customer service. The activity itself was great. The islands were beautiful and relaxing, There was a little bit of something for everyone. The beaches were beautiful with soft white sand. The water felt so good after being in the sun. There were paddleboats and snorkling. Several Guna Yala women had stands set up if you wanted to shop. One island had hammocks where you could relax listening to the ocean waves and feel the cool breeze. One had volleyball nets set up. Another had a bar where you could get drinks. And everywhere girls were taking instagram pics. The boat rides were fun and wet.

This was a great excursion! Our tour guide was Jorge and he was awesome! I appreciated how he was very informative and pointed out special landmarks. Snorkeling was okay if you’re a water lover. Ziplining was AMAZING! Miguel was the absolute best and his family farm and courses and hands down the BEST! Would definitely recommend!!!

If you are looking for an active, beautiful day in Panama, this is your tour. Snorkeling + beach + Zip Lining; a wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of this lovely country. And Jorge was a spectacular guide. Highly recommend.

It was all amazing. From hotel pick-up to night and days on the island! Thank you all!

A really great experience. You just have to see it, something really extraordinary.
