Full description
Discover some of the secrets to French cuisine at a small group cooking class in Paris. Held in the Latin Quarter, the class is typically limited to between 3 and 7 people to keep things intimate and personal. You wlll be welcomed at 10:30 once your hosts have returned from a local market armed with fresh produce for you to cook. Head to the kitchen and start building a menu based on what ingredients were available. This will include an appetizer, main course, and dessert using classic French techniques, such as ice cream and wine sauce. Learn how to plan a meal, and what can be prepared in advance. In total you will learn about 6-8 different techniques. After about 2 hours of cooking - fortified with a glass of wine or 2 - it’s time to enjoy a delicious meal, paired with red and white wines and generous servings of cheese. Sitting in the beautiful setting, you will be joined by a native Frenchman whose complete mastery of the English language will help him share stories about French food and culture. Lunch typically finishes at around 15:00 - but nobody will be rushing you out the door!

Fred who hosted the class is very knowledgeable and put a lot of humor in the class, he makes the class very interesting, one does get a lot of hands on to prepare the mise en place for the meal but you don’t actually do any cooking. When we booked, it was mentioned that we a 4 course lunch is included but in reality, only a 3-course lunch was prepared and served.

Perfect class set up that is very fun and informative. Freddie did a great job educating, entertaining and engaging all 12 class participants. One of the best cooking classes we have taken, perfect timing and the food was great. Will definitely use what we learned. Thank you for a great day.

    Entertaining, educational and mouthwatering

Quite an exquisite experience and beautifully tasty menu (and wine) ... (and cheese). Fred our chef (and also owner of Le Foodist) took us to the market first, letting us run wild while he bought some extra fresh produce for our class. This also doubled up as a mini tour of the area, which was value added – and tres interesting. Fred is such a character, he is so energetic and enjoyable to be around, an exceptional chef and it was a pleasure to be in the kitchen with him and learning from him. The class was an insightful tour on food in France, and when we got to sit down to enjoy our hard work – all plates were sparkling clean – it was utterly delicious. A splendid host, Fred entertained us all and I would certainly come back again.
