    Full description

    Start your tour by meeting your captain at the harbor of Peniche. Take a ferry towards the Berlengas archipelago, where your glass-bottom boat trip will take place. Then, take a 30-minute cruise around Berlengas, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that includes various nature conservation sites. . Look down into the clear waters and spot marine life. You will also enter some caves, such as the Blue Cave, the São João Batista Cave as well as a large hurricane cave.

    The ferry crossing was more turbulent than expected. Several passengers had to be given bags, even our stomachs were queasy. So we were happy to have booked a bigger boat here. The time on site was sufficient to explore the island. Nice: the São João Baptista fortress. The glass bottom boat tour was nice but not a must have done.

    The crossing does not take long, although the sea can be rough and can cause some dizziness to more sensitive people. No feeling of insecurity. Anti covid measures. The staff is attentive and friendly. The island is beautiful, with stunning views and a multitude of birds. I recommend the walk overlooking the caves.

    If you’re in the area you HAVE to check out this national reserve. There was some confusion at the pick up spot because there are so many tour companies at that spot but once we got to the right place everything from there was smooth sailing. It was an ‘easy’ tour to take - definitely worth the money!
