Known for its grand architecture and strict discipline, this was the world's first true "penitentiary," a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret, in the hearts of prisoners. Discover how the building itself was an architectural wonder; it had running water and central heat before the White House. From the beginning, everything was just amazing!! Our guide was so knowledgeable as we toured the countryside on our way to our lunch, and the headsets were a real plus! Lunch was amazing and the family was delightful and appeared to love sharing their culture and family. Chatting with the older children and watching the younger children play best part of our visit to Lancaster. Highly recommend!!!
