We had a wonderful tour with Fred (of Fred Walks). Our tour included 2 adults and 2 adolescents. Fred provided a lot of background on French history that was useful throughout our trip (understanding monuments, paintings, etc.), as well as information and stories about specific monuments and "residents" of Pere-Lachaise. He kept us moving, was funny and interesting, and very responsive to questions and interests within the group.

This tour was amazing! Would definitely recommend as the cemetery is huge, and our guide was able to show us all the different graves and tell us the history along the way. Marine was a fantastic guide, had so many interesting stories about the people buried there and obviously enjoyed her job! Absolutely loved this tour :)

We had an amazing guide! Amazing knowledge. It was absolutely great to go with a guide and learn a lot about the history of the place, french history, the famous people buried there etc. Overall, an amazing experience and would highly recommend it. Much better than just walking around there.

The cemetery is so large, you really must have a guide. Hamish pointed out things we never would have noticed and told stories to make the experience come alive. Only negative was he walked a bit fast for those of us who wanted to stop and take pics.

It was really fun to do this, though wished we could have seen a few more graves!
