After meeting your guide in the city center, head out on a river cruise along the Perfume River in a traditional Dragon Boat to reach Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest Pagoda temple in Hua. Next, visit the Citadel and learn more about the Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam’s last dynasty. See stunning artefacts in the Royal Antiques Museum, marvel at the architecture of the Noon Gate, and wander through the Ancestral Temple and Thai Hoa Palace. Then, experience the hustle and bustle of the Dong Ba Market and enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant. Later, head to the Minh Mang tomb and experience the fusion of traditional Vietnamese and modern European architecture at the Khai Dinh tomb. Next, visit a conical hat village, where you can see local artisans creating these traditional hats and maybe even pick up a unique souvenir. Your final stop will be at an incense stick village where you will see incense being created.  Get dropped off in Hue city center in the evening.

Hue (pronounced ‘hway’) was the capital city of Vietnam where the Nguyen dynasty ruled from 1802 to 1945. Hue owes its charm partly to its location on the Perfume River. This location is also the destination of palaces, pagodas, tombs, temples, culture, and cuisine, as well as history and heartbreak — as such, the city is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site status. This private excursion gives you an opportunity to explore not only the Imperial Citadel of Hue, Thien Mu Pagoda, and the Perfume River but also a chance to meet local people in a rural village. 8:00 – 8:30 a.m: Our guide and car will pick you up at your hotel/stay in Hue city center and start the Hue city full day tour. The 30 min boat drive to the pagoda in the morning will be a great start for the journey. Fresh air from Perfume river will make you very comfortable. Visit Hue Imperial Citadel – Imperial city, the home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty – the Nguyen Dynasty. Hue Royal Antiques Museum – A collection of ornaments from the Nguyen Dynasty. After the Citadel, our car will take you to Dong Ba Market, the busiest market in Hue with various kinds of foods and goods. Here you can see how the local people buy and sale things and this is also a chance for you to buy souvenirs for your friends and family. Have lunch with Hue dishes. Take a rest before continuing the trip to visit the tombs, our herbal foots bath is a wonderful gift for you! Visit Khai Dinh King’s Tomb – which is a blend of Western and Eastern architecture Minh Mang King’s Tomb – considered as the most majestic of all of the Royal Tombs. Renowned for its architecture, which harmoniously blends into its natural surroundings. On the way back, stop by the Conical hat village and incense stick village (practical experience with making conical hats and incense sticks at local house). 4:00 – 5:00 p.m: Back to your hotel. Great tour, our guide HaThanh provided us with a lot of information, was extremely competent and tried hard, very good lunch in a great restaurant, we felt very safe with our driver, highly recommended!

The day tour was well-paced and well-organised. The curated activities were interesting and we enjoyed the sumptuous lunch. Our guide Ms Hong Ngoc was knowledgeable and very engaging.
